View Full Version : Anybody besides me feel that the Viewer Appreciation on N@N would be BETTER without
TVFactFan 07-15-2003, 11:28 PM Wings and Cheers???
I'm so pissed right now that I have nothing to watch. I now know that Tuesday nights is something I will not look forward to.

GoldenFamilyTies 07-15-2003, 11:41 PM Showing their big ratings hits is alright with me, but I don't know how they dare call it "Viewer Appreciaton Summer"!!
*PinkLady* 07-15-2003, 11:44 PM I agree. I don't think a lot the viewers feel too appreciative of the same shows being played over and over again.

Adamantium 07-16-2003, 12:31 AM Wings is the ONLY show in the marathons that I love. It's the kind of show I can watch a bunch of episodes in a row. Some shows are good, but I can't stand to watch a marathon of them. The Viewer Appreciation Marathons would be better without TWO blocks of The Cosby Show, Cheers, and Three's Company. It would also be better without Sanford and Son. That show already has a channel to be rerun on. Why on earth does it have to be on N@N as well?
And as for Sitcom Analyzer's remark about The Cosby Show being better than Wings and Cheers ... I disagree. But that's just my opinion.

That's a shame. "Wings" is a good show, no matter what most people may say.:)

If they showed them uncut and without commercial breaks, then yeah. That would be awesome! :D

It would be better without TCB, and without Sanford & Son. It's awful how that show took the only plack that Family Ties (FT) had on the Viewer Appreciation schedule, and because of S&S, FT isn't on at all during the week.
Viewer Appreciation--give me a break. Bring back FT during the week. It's only on Sat. and Sun. at 4AM. I hope that S&S doesn't replace FT on the weekends as well.
I agree. If I want to watch Sanford and Son I can either turn to TV Land or watch the first 2 seasons on DVD. Family Ties gets treated like crap. But remember, this is Viewer Appreciation Summer. Which means .... well, I guess that means absolutely nothing. ;)

I do agree with S&S not being on N@N. I don't see why it's on Viewer Appreciation if the show is already on TV LAND 4 Times during the week.
GoldenFamilyTies 07-16-2003, 12:52 AM Nexct summers marathon will rock though... it will have a lot more variety since they'll have Roseanne, Full House, Who's The Boss? mixed in also.

A UNCUT Wings episode reminds me of a Rainy Monday Morning,
That's how I feel about "The Cosby Show," "Sanford and Son," and "Seinfeld." But for me, "Wings" is always a comforting part of my mostly miserable workdays. After getting insulted by the customers and nagged at by the managers, it a wonderful thing to come home, drink some pop, eat a pizza and watch "Wings."
Chocoholic 07-16-2003, 09:43 AM If you don't klikeWwings, then just don't watch! There are a lot of Wings fans out there, many of us pretty pissed off at N@N.
Anyway, I think PBS is more exciting than that lame Three's Company :D N@N would improve if they dumped Three's Company and gave Wings a better timeslot and showed more episodes.

First of all, it's 'an uncut', not 'a uncut'. Come back when you learn some English skills.
Second of all, we get the point. You don't like Wings. You're ramming the fact that you don't like the show down our throats in every single post in this topic. Stop it.

I have to agree with what most of you have been saying. I enjoy "Coach" and am disappointed that it is only shown 2 times a week. I think Sanford and Son should not be on Nick at Nite at all. Besides, it is not a "Modern TV Classic." It is just a "TV Classic." I'm not a Three's Company, Wings, or Family Ties fan, but I think these shows should be aired too. I like Cosby, but I don't need to see 2 separate marathon windows per week. They should give Perfect Strangers, Coach, Head of the Class, and Family Ties a chance. They should also air one of these shows twice a day on the weekends and get rid of Kids Say the Darndest Things. It is not even a sitcom, lol

First of all, "Three's Company" got the treatment that your precious "Wings" is getting before! Except what they did with TC was MUCH MUCH worse. During that damn "Wings" marathon, TC only came on twice a week, at 3am (eastern), on Saturdays and Sundays. TC deserves those two nights and the timeslots it has been in! It is a TRUE TV classic, not "Wings." "Wings" was only cancelled 6 years ago! I know that they are pushing the Modern TV Classics thing, but "Wings," or ANY show that premiered in the 90s isn't any kind of TV classic, not yet. "Wings" needs to be dumped and thrown back at USA, you would all be happy because it had good timeslots there. I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I don't think TC is lame, but I do think that it deserves every airing it is getting now. N@N wouldn't improve if they dumped it, because the main reason they put "Wings" in that late slot was because TC had such great ratings the two weeks before "Wings" even started airing on the channel. They looked at TC's ratings compared to the ratings "Wings" was getting and did what they thought would bring in the ratings. And if they ever do dump TC, they had better pray to God that TVLand picks it up because if they don't I will be flooding N@N with e-mail every hour of the day. Now remember, I'm not trying to take potshots at "Wings" or any of its fans, I was just saying that TC deserves the slots it is getting, because it is getting the ratings AND has a HUGE following.

Exactly. Why does the Cosby Show get treated like the Kind of Sitcoms on that channel? There's other shows they could show that day instead of Cosby twice during the week.

I understand what you're saying, but Three's Company has been on N@N for a few years now. I like TC too, but I like Wings more and want to see it at a better timeslot. I agree that it's on N@N too soon. But that doesn't change the fact that I want it on at a better timeslot. Besides, I think TC would be better for TV Land anyways. It makes me mad that N@N puts TC on two weeks before the marathon at the 11 o'clock hour. And then people finally decide to watch it. I do wish "Wings"would go back to USA. It got better treatment there. The only thing is a lot of the fans on these messageboards only became fans due to N@N. N@N is really getting me ticked off at TC, which used to be one of my favorite shows.
And if I wanted to watch The Cosby Show, I'd turn to TBS where I wouldn't have some annoying blue logo in the bottom corner.
phoebe7165 07-17-2003, 03:24 PM I just would like to know why Sitcom Analyzer hates Wings so much. There must be a reason. There are ALOT of shows that N@N & TVLand show that I don't like, and some that I think are downright stupid, no matter how popular they were and do you see me bashing them? And what is wrong with PBS? They show alot more intelligent programs than alot of the horrible shows on cable today.
If you don't like a show, THEN DON'T WATCH IT! It's as simple as that. That's why I quit going on the TVLand message board, because all there was was bashing. I'm sure you're familiar with that great invention called the remote control.

I'm glad you understood what I meant and didn't fly off the handle, because if I had told that to someone else (I won't say any names) they would have definatly got into a argument. I agree about TC going to TVLand. It would fit in much much more, since one of its partners in crime from ABC Tuesdays, "Happy Days" is there. They should put TC in a morning/night slot, say like 10:30AM (central) and then at night at around 9:00PM (central). I have nothing against "Wings" really, I was just shocked that it was coming to N@N already. It should go back to USA and it would have some good morning slots there. "The Cosby Show" is just plain annoying. I really tried to like that show, but the promos, the marathons at least once a month, all of the airings on different networks, not to mention local affiliates, just got on my very last nerve. I wish someone would just take that one off of every channel it is on and let it rest for a solid five years.
dlemond 07-17-2003, 04:42 PM I just want to know if there will ever be a time when The Cosby Show will not be on Nick at Nite - even for a few months!

It seems like more than 5 years.
Try mixing it up with some different sitcoms you Bill Cosby ass-kissers.

Try 16 months. It's held that 9PM slot for a solid 16 months. (Minus the summer or other various marathons.) That's absolutely ridiculous. :thumbsdow Whatever happened to Nick-at-Nite: The place for TV hits?!? Hits usually implying more than one.

I just feel is a USA type of show. Doesn't belong on N@N. It's just not marathon material.
CarJackSnyder 07-17-2003, 08:06 PM i am mad @ n@n for givin cosby 2 nights a week!!!!! that is not what i call viewer appreciation!!!!!!! a lot of people r dissen Wings here whats so bad bout the show i mean it is 1 of my favorites!!!! I know a lot of people on this site love Three's Company, and I totally respect that. However, I've never found it the least bit funny. Wings happens to be one of my all-time favorite shows and I'm a little sad with the way N@N is treating it. They barely gave it a chance. I'm not trying to start fights with anyone. I'm not one for petty fights. I just want to be able to express my opinion, just like everyone else on this site gets to.
Freakzilla 07-19-2003, 08:20 PM It is bad that N@N is treating Wings and other shows badly while putting Cosby on so much. At least Wings has a marathon, though N@N still ruins end credits scenes with their stupid VAS promos after 2 a.m.. Of the other shows, Family Ties and Coach should be in the marathon because a lot of viewers appreciate those shows.
I've never understood all the Wings-bashing. Wings was a good show that lasted for 8 seasons. Wings had a great cast, great writing, and was very funny. Plus, it was created by the same people who created Frasier. IMO, Wings was just as good, even though it never came near an Emmy.

I feel the same way. I actually like Wings better than I like Frasier.
I am Roboto 07-30-2003, 02:45 AM I'm not sure about Wings being better than Frasier, but it was a good show- So was Cosby, but when you get it force-feeded into you like N@N does, it gets old- quick. They should add marathons for Coach and Family Ties, two shows which have been treated horribly on N@N.
Chris.
