Hello gang at Cheers!

My name is Tina and I am brandee (with two ee's!) new to this board. I have never posted a thread in any sort of message board before. I am pretty new to this. I have read over this board several times because i like to surf the web for Cheers sites and i found this site and enjoyed reading what other Cheers fans had to say about this fantastic sitcom. I almost feel like I already know some of you guys! Kinda strange really...but anywho... I have loved Cheers for as long as I can remember. I am a huge fan. I am looking forward to talkin it up about this fab sitcom! Although i must say, i can be busy and until we get cable at my house my sister and I could be tyin up the phone line if we stay on too long, but anywho, I hope to hear from ya soon! Oh and by the way, because i am new to this message board thing, I would love it if someone could tell me how I could put one of my saved pictures in under my name and in my signature! Maybe it is different with a mac or something. Sorry I am kinda computer illiterate!! Thanks!

Hey!! Welcome to the boards Tina!! and to the forum "where everybody knows your name" ..lol! I'm Maria and am on here a lot...lol! The picture under your name is called an avatar and if you go to the announcements that tj puts up at the top of the board it tells you how to put in an avatar. The signatures I couldn't figure out (lol I'm sort of a computer illiterate too) till good old steve (aka NORM) told me that in the user cp where it says edit profile, where you write your signature you simply find a site with a pic and put the address between www. whatever. com So glad to have you join us, the more the merrier!!

:welcome:  :welcome:

Hey guys! Thanks for replying again. I don't mean to be a pain in the a$$, but i am just frustrated with my computer it is pretty slow. I am trying to get my profile and stuff straight and i have a file with images in it that i wanted to use for my avatar, but it won't take them because of their size. I know there has to be a way to change their size, but for some reason either I or my computer must be ******** cause it won't do anything!!!! I might not be so mad if my computer wasn't so damn slow. Ok, I'll be ok...gotta chill...anyways, if any of you guys could tell me how your pics fit could you tell me please???? hehe thanks! By the way have any of you guys tried crispy creme donuts? I just tried one tonight we don't really have them in Beantown and WOW are they good!!!!:p

Welcome Tina! I'm Krista. It's nice to have a new member! So, being the Cheers fan you are, what are some of your favorites about the series? Like episodes, character, etc....

And again, welcome aboard!

ILoveCheers

Well...
My favorite characters are probably Sam and Diane... I know there are a lot of you guys on this board...but I think the funniest characters are Frasier, Woody, and Rebecca. As for a favorite episode, I would have to say PowerPlay or I Do Adieu, even though it was really sad, it was also a very graceful way for Diane to depart the show. I don't know, I guess I have been a fan of the show since i was a young kid. I would watch it in sindication most of the time because i couldn't stay up too late, but sometimes i caught the Rebecca years during their original NBC airings. But I really became addicted a few years ago when I was doing a semester of school in Florida. I was sometimes homesick for Boston and I would watch Cheers at night beacuse it was the only thing that would remind me of home at times. After that I was totally hooked. I just love the show. And I am also sick of Cosby@nite for their stupid Cosby enfatuation. I miss the good ol' days when Cheers was on at 10 and 12! But whatever. But yeah, so that's my Cheers thing in a nutshell.

I'd have no trouble there- my guy is a big time Cheers/Frasier fan. Only problem is that he doesn't like Lilith too much. I'll just have to take care of that! lol:rolleyes:

I went up to north beach for a few days. Had to start filming my video part for Roadkill. I only filmed one line though, kickflip this gap and then noseslide to fakie on this ledge. I talked my way out of getting a ticket and this cop got me and my friends information so the next time I get busted up there I get a nice little buttery piece of paper, and fined 50 bucks. But I'm here now, Boston on Friday, Cheers and skate Boston. i hear police are a pain there so I'll have to keep my eyes open.

I only skateboard. Skate or Die!

I never cared for team sports. You play for the Coach's aprooval and to not let your team down. It's just not about you. Skateboarding isn't a sport, it's a lifestyle. But you do what you want.:)

DianeChambers87
07-16-2003, 09:36 PM
Steve (NORM) and Marc(onefortheroad) are too

wizard12
07-16-2003, 09:40 PM
Ya, I get pissed at some of my teammates sometimes. They could be to me too. Skateboarding is cool, except at my school. Pretty much all skaters are stoners. I don't like that.

Wow. That's 4 of us. It seems there aren't many older people on this board who watched it when they were kids or something.

DianeChambers87
07-16-2003, 09:44 PM
No there are more the of elder cheers fans, than us there's: Ria, FOLN@Fan,Janice, ILoveCheers, ...for some reason right now I can't think of many more but there are....steve help me..

NORM
07-16-2003, 09:44 PM
Yeah I'm straight edge. Most people think I'm a stoner cause I skate but that is just a stereotype I can't get rid of. Plus you live in Vancouver. Theres a skatepark every 5 miles.

DianeChambers87
07-16-2003, 09:46 PM
We don't know how old jpnoyes is Danson Queen is 18 I think...Then there's Dr. Lilith Sternin who hasn't been on for a long time, but sometimes she'll post...

wizard12
07-16-2003, 09:50 PM
Oh, that sucks. Ya, there is a big stereotype against skaters and drugs. Good that you aren't a stoner. There is 1 about every 2 or 3 km. Tons and they're always filled. I sometimes play hockey right beside them and sometimes watch. Some are very talented.

Oh, so I see I was wrong. Seems to be a lot of...older fans. :D

How's 88 for ya??

I mean the year, not the age!

I played hockey when I was younger, but I can't ice skate that good and I'm terrible on roller blades especially with a stick in my hand.

Right now I play baseball though, but this might be my last year, I don't get that much playing time, and I don't like the idea of organized sports for kids where the coach's kid gets all the playing time when he never even comes to practice.

My best friend skates, he SUCKS though.

Me and him do a lot of jackass kind of stuff, but its more like Trigger Happy TV (a much better, calmer, version of jackass).

Im the camera man for most of it.

Ohh yeah, my name's Tim, but you can call me Stan, its not my name.... i probably wont answer, but you can call me that.

wizard12
07-16-2003, 10:46 PM
Hey Tim...or Stan. :D Ah, so you're 1 year younger. That's cool.

I learned to skate 3 weeks before my first game. I have been playing for 3 years now. Soccer was my sport when I was younger. Played for 9 years.

I like baseball. I don't play because I swing at every pitch pretty much. I hate those kids. Don't so anything but get special treatment. (Reminds me of the Simpsons football episode where Homer was coach, Bart sucks but got everything for him).

I like to do some stupid stuff too with my friends. We don't use a camera though. Just jump off of things. :D

Nice meetin ya.
