For the next eight days my family is going to be on vacation, leaving early tomorrow morning. Just wanted to tell you all that I will miss being able to at least read all your wonderful comments about Freddie and drool over all the gorgeous pictures many of you post! We will be RVing and can't count on having internet connections available at the campground where we will be staying. The good news, though, is that this trip will provide another opportunity for Luckymama and me to visit, and for our entire families to meet this time!

BTW, now that I mentioned it, sorry I don't post much these days, but with my kids home for the summer I am lucky I get to be on the computer at all LOL! And last week I had no internet whatsoever, thanx to a computer glitch in our practically new machine that wiped out the network connections! But I do look at everything and enjoy it all very much--so much love and talent represented here!

Anyway, you all have a wonderful Freddie-filled week while I am gone, and I will be back on here ASAP a week from Sunday night if I am not too exhausted LOL (I always come back from a vacation needing a vacation)!

I am so looking forward to Mariposa's visit. Like she said, we have met each others families, but they haven't met each other yet! And she is coming to see my new house too! :D I am soooo excited. I hope you have a safe trip and I will see you Sunday. Enjoy the first couple of days camping before you get here! :) It is going to be so much fun to share my Freddie room with someone who understands the obsession! LOL  I hope one day we can all meet, like they do for other things. Maybe instead of a Trek convention, we could have a Chico convention!

Hey a Chico convention would be great! :) We'd have to have it near VA as it'd be too hard for me to travel too far from VA... Such a neat idea! :)

Got back yesterday afternoon from a great trip, and I thought I'd tell you all about it, since Luckymama is without access to a computer while she helps supervise her church's youth group on a river camping trip this weekend.

Our two families spent last Sunday and Tuesday together. Sunday we went to services at their brand new--very beautiful and impressively huge--church, and Lucky took us on a tour afterward. We then had a cookout at their new and very secluded house in the woods--a lovely place with wide open, high-ceilinged rooms (and a special music room for her husband) on the first floor and a sort of "loft" area with her kids' bedrooms (and Lucky's "Freddie" computer room) on the second. We also got to meet her parents, who were visiting from North Carolina. Tuesday we made the auto tour of Gettysburg in Lucky's van--well, half of it anyway, cuz the gift shop sold us a two-CD set of the audio guide which included two copies of Part One OMG!

Thursday, Lucky and I hit all the malls in the immediate area (LOL!), while my husband took our two daughters to see the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal and played miniature golf with them at the campground where we were staying. I had promised to be back before dark, and we JUST made it hee hee!

My family also visited Harpers Ferry, WV and the Antietam Creek battlefield in MD (we stayed in Hagerstown, MD, which is pretty centrally located to all of these places). On the whole, it was a wonderful trip, but we are glad to be home. I am especially glad to be back among my Freddie Family, and I am sure Lucky will be too, when she gets back Monday from being thrown in the river by a bunch of teenagers! :happyface

Really sounds like you had a great time! (BTW, if your reading this, Luckymama, being thrown in a river right now sounds pretty good since its been well over 100 degrees here in Kansas for the past several days! LOL!!) :jar: :bouncers

Thanks Mariposa for the great write up about our visit together. I had a wonderful time. I am not going to repeat the things we did, Mariposa did a great job of that. I will say it was wonderful to spend time with her family. My mom and dad really enjoyed meeting Mariposa's family and spent a lot of time talking with her hubby while we were on the computer. My hubby and I had a great time at Gettysburg with her family. I was surprised how well her girls held up with all the siteseeing we did. My kids would have been complaining in a major way by the end of the day. I really enjoyed our outing to the malls on Thursday. It isn't often that I get to spend time with mi hermana in Freddie. And I was excited that Mariposa got to see my room. My daughter calls it my shrine to that dead guy, but I think of it more as a tribute. She is just weird. I am just glad I finally have a space of my own to do this in. I know my family thinks I am weird, but I wondered what her hubby thought of my Freddie room! LOL I know he and my hubby are tollerant to a point when it comes to our obsession! I think Mariposa liked it when she was on my 'puter and it would play the sound bites from the show everytime you would do something.... instead the usual sounds. My friend Bonnie showed me how to replace the normal computer sounds with the CATM ones from the TVLand site. It makes it cool to work on the computer, even if my kids can't stand it. TOO bad on them HUH? LOL
I can't wait till my hubby and I get to go to her house in October for their local pumpkin festival. That should be a lot of fun. I sure miss her already and wish we lived closer together. I would love to meet all of you too. I have met two of you now, Mariposa and Jenny Lee, but I want to meet all of you. What a Freddie good time that will be! :D

That is one impressive puter room! :) Lucky & I must be related somewho cuz that pic she's got up on the wall of him with the leisure suit on unbuttoned & his belly button showing. Well I have that one hanging in a frame on the wall behind my puter in the den. :) The den is my puter & tv etc room LOL! My hubby Mike complains he has no room to display his Elvis stuff cuz my Arlo Freddie & Monkee stuff has overtaken the room LOL!

I'm posting on here pics of what it all looks like. I didn't photograph the messy parts LOL!

Here is the pic of the puter area...

And last but not least...

As you can see instead of posting a bunch of pics, I put them all into colleges so it takes up less space & bandwidth...

And last but not least here is the rest of the pics. I did them as a bunch of pics together in a collage to save space, posting & bandwidth...

Notice the peace sign pillow with a 60's type look, the Monkees guitar logo pillow & the plastic Monkees pillow & my Freddie cardboard standup advertising the LOOKING GOOD album...

Actually I don't have a computer room. I just put the puter in the den & the Arlo & Freddie & Monkees stuff kinda over took in there. There is also a couch a Lazy Boy Chair, a desk, a kitchen eating table (kitchen is too small for it & we have a dining room with nice dining room suite) & a drysink cabinet-- all that in addtion to the stereo on the stereo table & the tv home entertainment stand with the tv & vcrs etc on it as well as some Arlo & Freddie.

I have a laptop too but never thought to use it on the bathroom. The laptop would burn me it gets kinda warm LOL! My laptop is a very old 486 DX 100 mhz with Win 95 on it, 56 K modem & very slow & no sound either. But it is very slow. I am to do what it takes me an hr or so to do on my big win 95 puter used to take me 5 hrs untill I added some more ram memory. So now it takes 3 hrs maybe LOL! About all I can do on it is websites, message baord web surfing, e-mail (both web based & thru Outlook Express) & view pix from my digital camera & save them to disk. I would love to get a faster one but they are more than I can afford. I bet most of you have cool looking puter areas...
