Who do you think is the worst writer in soap history?

The people that write Days of Our Lives and Passions. Especially those writers. Days is screwed up with the dumb character John. Can't they make him normal? Passions used to be the best when it first began, why can't they get like that again? I miss the old Passions :(

Right on! I also think they're both horrible.

Megan McTavish... this women RUINED "General Hospital" and was just HORRIBLE when she was on "All My Children" in the 1990's (although Agnes Nixon was able to stop some of that damage)... This women cannot grasp the concept of Character DEVELOPMENT... i mean on "GH" she brought in Kristina who had no point, came out of nowhere and never did a dang thing.... She helped further the Carly/Sonny Mob Hour and ruined the once beloved "GH"...

Robert Guza Jr., and Charles Pratt Jr.,- They used to be all right but they SUCK now, they have taken "GH" and made it totally unwatchable... I CANNOT STAND THEM ANYMORE.... God i long for the days of Claire Labiane and Wendy Riche! Wendy Riche was the BEST EXECUTIVE PRODUCER GH EVER HAD (aside from the legendary Gloria Monty) and with the Labine's as head-writers the show was UNSTOPPABLE.... Oh well....

The writers of "Passions". and I'm mad at whoever made Amber of 'The Bold & The Beautiful' have a twin, April, and just put the actress in a wig as the twin. it was ugly seeing it. I HATED it...

I don't agree. I've watched GH for a long time and I'm loving it more than ever. Of course, I love the whole Sonny storyline. I hope that someday you are able to watch the show again without hating it because I think it is the best soap on TV. Give Sonny a chance! :)

I have given Sonny a chance and its not so much that i don't like sonny, i did at one time.. but problem is that it seems as though they have mad the mob the entire focus of the show and has forgotten about well, The HOSPITAL and half the cast.... what happened to Bobbie? Where's Alan and Monica? do you see my point? What used to make the show so great is that you had more than one story to pick from, you had the mob, yes but you also had the Quatermaines and the Hospital, you had whatever medical emergancy the town was dealing with, you had Luke and Laura, you had so much to choose from that you weren't overwhelmed with one set of characters... but the show has morphed into the mob hour and we never see half the characters any more... Sonny, Jason, Carly, Courtney and Alexis are the only characters that seem to have any stories anymore... Every story either revolves around them or involves them in some way... I just want "GH" to get back to its roots of Hospital, Family and Romance and lessen the whole violent mob stuff, its getting repetitive.... i used to like Sonny but he's taken over the show... imho.... I'm not saying its bad, i just think that it has been better in the past... and i've been watching "GH" for some 12 or 13 years now, so i've seen "GH" at its best and worst... and this is by far the worst its ever been...

Sorry to all GH fans that love the current regime, I cannot stand what these writers Bob Guza and Charles Pratt AKA PruzaK, have done to the show since they took over.

I'll admit Megan Mc Tavish had her faults, but at least the characters had depth to them ... now everything is so focused on plot points, that you have no idea where the characters you love are coming from.

What's happened to the Carly that was being written independent? Who was given the chance to have other relationships beyond the Fearsome Foursome?

I loved Carly's relationship with Zander, and Jax too...

Two Characters that I think that have Changed the Most:

Sonny... I don't even recognize him anymore and I love Maurice to pieces and I've always enjoyed Sonny, but I'm not emotionally invested in the character anymore and that's not his fault he's doing the best he can with what he's given, I blame the writers.

Sonny's Smart, he would've figured Rick's Schemes out much sooner, he would've figured out Alexis lying to him, he would've figured out Alkazars plans before they were even set in motion.

This is the man who's always a step ahead of the game, remember Sonny without Jason, who figured out where AJ had Courtney without his right hand mans help, the man who took care of Sorel without Jason's' help (Yeah, I realize he strapped a bomb to himself, but he did it on his own! LOL!)

Alexis, Where Oh Where has my Bright, Independent, Savvy, Witty, Alexis gone?

These writers have destructed her strength in order to prop up a weak story... NLG another of my favorites on this show, is doing the best with what she's given ... but it paints the character in a bad light.

Alexis is a Smart Woman, I don't buy that having Baby Kristina changed her that much.

I believe that Alexis would kill someone if she felt they were threating the life of someone she loved, that's true to her character I believe... but I don't believe for one second that Alexis would fake DID, she would've known a better way out of this, without resorting to red wigs, and Butler gear.

Sonny said it best back on June 4, 2001

Alexis: I don’t usually but I like you too, Sonny, and I don’t want to have to choose between our friendship and my principles.

Chad Brannon... Zander, love this character, hate that the writers dumped him from Sonny's storyline because Steve Burton returned ... because I loved the relationship between Zander and Sonny, he looked to him as Father Figure, where Jason always looked to Sonny as a Brother.

Anyhoo, one good thing GH has going for it is casting, they have a killer cast.

New Additions being Ted King, Cynthia Preston, Rick Heart, the return of Tyler Christopher and Stephan Nichols.

Now the Writing needs to improve and I can start tuning in full time again.

Get Alexis out of the Butler Gear, and into her Attorney Mode again and reunite her with her daughter ... and get on with the baby reveal already, I'm sick of Sonny not knowing about his daughter and the "True" Alexis would've wised up along time ago and told him!

Sorry for the rant... LOL! This is Just My Opinion and It's not my intention to disrespect others love for the show.

I agree on all counts! I'd also like to add that i really wish we could see characters like Monica, Alan, Leslie, Audrey, Bobbie, Jax, Tony and others get story-lines, and i'd like the Hospital to play a more vital role in the show, and BRING BACK NURSE AMY VINNING,one of the best things the show ever had! She was so funny and fun to watch!

I agree with you on a lot of points. I guess that any time someone disses GH I jump to it's defense because all I ever hear any more is the bad stuff about the show. I enjoy all the storylines and I also wish that they would have a wider variety to be interested in. But here's how I figure it, I'll support the show for as long as I can because without fans' support there would be no GH and even if it's bad it's still on. At least you get to get a glimpse of your favorite character. If no one supported the show you wouldn't have that much! But thanks for both of your constructive criticism. You made good points! :)

Good points... You just proved that it is possible to have a two-sided discussion in which people share differing opinons without anyone getting offended or taking it personally... everyone is entitled to theri own opinon and views.

I'm also glad we can have civilized conversations about GH. On other message boards people are brutal!
