View Full Version : Favorite Childbirth Episode
mstewart 07-08-2003, 11:35 PM Here are three episodes that comes to mind when dealing with a birth:
Family Ties - The Birth of A Keaton - When Andy was born. It was very funny and entertaining.
Bewitched - And Then There Were Three - The birth of Tabitha. That was one of most naturally acted scenes I've watched between Darrin and Samantha after the birth. It looked as though it was real but it was acted.
The Jeffersons - The Arrival - Hilarious getting Jenny to the hospital to give birth to Jessica. Very tender moment between George and Jenny during that episode.
LucyFan 07-09-2003, 12:39 AM My picks:
The famous I Love Lucy episode entitled "Lucy Goes To The Hospital", #51 where Lucy finally has her baby.
The Bewitched episodes where Samantha gives birth to Tabitha (#54) and Adam (#175).
That's all I can think of now.
DianeChambers87 07-09-2003, 10:00 AM "Lucy goes to the Hospital" I love that one
"The Stork Brings a Crane", Cheers episode #174
Sterling Holobyte 07-09-2003, 06:09 PM The Get A Life episode where Chris has to have his tonsils taken out, so naturally he thinks he's going to die, and he wants to experience life before he does, so he(among other things), ...has a baby!
Yeah, stupid. But funny!
:D
benjamoon 07-09-2003, 09:45 PM Bewitched "And Then There Were Three"
~ Not only is there the touching moment between Darrin & Samantha, but also the scene between Darrin & Endora at the very beginning is one of my favorites in the entire series
The Mary Tyler Moore Show - "Mary Midwife"
~ Hilarious from start to finish. Ted's "walk" into the bedroom makes me laugh everytime
I Love Lucy - "Lucy Goes to the Hospital"
~ My favorite part has to be when Ricky, Fred, and Ethel are rehearsing for it and then it actually happens
Crimson and Clover 07-10-2003, 02:33 AM Bewitched "And Then There Were Three"
I Love Lucy - "Lucy Goes to the Hospital"
Mad About You- The Birth (1)and (2)
Roseanne-The Miracle
Adamantium 07-10-2003, 05:48 PM Welcome Back, Kotter (And Baby Makes Four) Julie Kotter goes into labor with the twins and needs Barabarino to take her to the hospital.
I Love Lucy (Lucy Goes to the Hospital) A classic.
Perfect Strangers (Up, Up and Away) The final episode of the series saw Larry and Balki hanging off the side of a hot air balloon basket, while Jennifer is giving birth to Larry's son.
Brandon 07-10-2003, 06:19 PM Friends ~ The One Where Rachel Has A Baby
Penny Lane 07-10-2003, 07:37 PM Murphy Brown:lol:
Impressions 07-11-2003, 10:52 AM The Facts of Life: "Christmas Baby"
Get Smart: "And Baby Makes Four" Parts 1 & 2
I Love Lucy: "Lucy Goes to the Hospital"
James 07-11-2003, 01:49 PM Had The Wonder Years continued beyond 1993 we probably would have seen several childbirth episodes.
Oh, wait! In Episode #68, "Graduation," Miss White (Kevin's seventh-grade English teacher) was driving Kevin home in her white Volkswagen bug, and she stopped the car and made Kevin (who didn't have a driver's license at the time!) drive to the hospital when she discovered she was about to give birth.
The only other childbirth episode that comes to mind is the episode of The Waltons in which Mary Ellen's friend Cassie gives birth to a stillborn child. To borrow a phrase from the Peanuts strip, it was a dark and stormy night. Fans might remember the poem "Look into the eyes of death, never feel your baby's breath" (or something similar) repeating throughout.
felicitylen 07-11-2003, 11:22 PM The birth of Wyatt on Charmed. It showed how close the family were because Pheobe and Paige were apart of the birthing process and it was just special.
Kristen 07-12-2003, 01:28 PM I've got to go with some tried-and-true favorites on this question. The first one that pops in my head is The Dick Van Dyke Show episode, "Where Did I Come From?" It's a great example of Dick's physical comedy. And the equally funny "Mary Midwife" from The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
