Anyways do not trade or buy anything from him because he will rip you off.

Could you please tell something about this person? Is his ID loudonslim on this board? Is his last name Maples? Is he from a town named Loudon? I am asking because I sent tapes to someone on this board that fits that description, but he has a different ID and a different email. I've been waiting three weeks, and I am beginning to wonder...

I dont understand. There are a few post about that person on both message boards here and there. Yet, people still want to trade or buy from him or her. If you see a post avoid that person like the plague. Do a trader check . Or some other form of references. People like that makes it harder for the those who are good trader/sellers to do anything. It really erks me.
Im still new at this myself. I have found that most good traders are more open and more than willing to give you references.
Start small when doing a new trade. Start with just doing 2 tapes at time . Until you feel you can trust that person. If you do
take a loss.
you are only out 2 tapes instead of a lot . Most good traders or sellers will understand and work with you. Im sorry you had to loose so much. I assure you. There are more good people on this board than bad. I havent encountered a bad one yet.

He did that to me too. I traded about 90 episodes of the Facts Of Life. He was suppossed to give me several other shows. But of course that was five months ago. I keep emailing him and he won't respond. :mad:

As most find out through trial and error, bad traders use various aliases, various websites, and various emails. Wouldn't it be best to post the actual name along with the address? It's far more difficult to pick up and move to a different location than it is to acquire a new email account.

It is not difficult to cross check with the information you know for sure about someone using google.com. But prepared should you find out more information than you really wanted to know. While researching one bad trader, I found out she'd previously been institutionalized for stalking movie stars. :eek:

thank you for the information (this is daydreamer11's sister). I kinda figured that this person whoever he / she may be wasn't even going to confess. I got an email from Pam Mapels that my sister did not get. She was acting a little to nice for some odd reason, even after the first email I got was very defensive, makes one wonder. I am really glad I only sent her Popular episodes and not $80, I feel really sorry for the person who did. I hope you get your money back, believe me.

more then one person says that you use the same mailing address and have all different email address's so do not take your anger out on me or my sister, maybe if you were going to rip people off ud hide your identity a little better. we and like a lot of other people do not appreciate it. i never thought someone could be that sad to lie but hey thats what kind of world it is these days i guess. just cause you send some people tapes and not tapes to others does not excuse you from being a bad trader. by doing that you are going to lose a lot of trades and i know i am not only speaking for myself and my sister, almost every post in the topic is proof of that.

I sent P. Maples USD 40 on November 27th and until Dec. 20th he claimed he never got the money. I just can't believe this but now I'm thinking I got ripped off. I'm in school and don't have much money but I really wanted to get those few eps I needed and now he didn't react on my last mail I sent some days ago. I'm from Europe though I guess I'll never ever get the tapes after reading these messages, what a disappointment. I paid a lot and will get nothing for it, that's a shame. Another one you should steer clear of is this guy called dan Giddings. I ordered a Car 54, Where Are You? tape from him a while back, and it wasn't even the one I ordered. It just cost me 12 bucks though ($10 + $2 shipping).

I have a trade/sell list on this board. I've gotten a few replies. If a tape I had wasn't "up to snuff", I wouldn't lie and say it was "A+" instead of "D+" or F; liars have a very nasty way of getting caught up with.

I don't know if this will help, but last year or so, someone tok me and others for a ride selling stuff on a message board and never sending the merchandise. Since I had the address, I found the phone number, and attempted to contact the individual. Through a series of several lies, I then decided to contact the authorities in the city they were from. I called City Hall to confirm the residence of the individual, then I called the Sheriff to inform them that there was an individual practicing fraud in their city. I proceded to the US Postal Service to file a fraud claim. When I called back to tell the individual that the police were involved, I got my money back---and fast.

You all have the address of this person. You all need to contact the authorities in that jurisdiction and start a complaint. If osmeone is taking your money, don't let them get away with it. Find the number in Loudon, TN and good luck.

The shady one got p'od at me just because it was my first time buying and I didn't understand the shipping/payment plan; it turned out to be my fault, though. I didn't scroll down far enough and thought the thing in the middle was the payment/shipping plan.

I sent it cash, just a normal envelope. I know she got it but she claims she didn't and uses lots of aliases. She is a liar and lots of people made the same experience.

you should never put cash in the mail because then you wouldn't have any proof.... next time when u pay or buy something send it in a money order or checks....its much safer

With our business, I have many times accepted cash in the mail from customers overseas. If a seller is completely honest, then that takes care of most of the problems with sending cash. Besides, as many of us can attest, sending money orders or checks isn't an absolute guarantee. Incidentally, filing a complaint with the USPS takes a loooong time, and if the con artist has perfected the ropes of his/her trade, then you will not necessarily recover from your losses.

In this case, the problem is not with the sender but the seller. Hind site always 20/20, isn't it.

If you ever send cash I would send it prority mail with a tracking # But a money order is always the best thing to get.

I know priority is much safer and I can track it but I have currently a few trades but I also have to change Euros in Dollars and so I sent most of them normal. I thought these people would be honest enough to admit if they got the money. I've learned my lesson.

I've sent cash through the mail plenty of times, but got shafted just twice: that Christine Thomas character and Movies Unlimited. You'd thinka commercial company like theirs would have a tracking number, but they don't. Steer clear of them.

I got two Not the Nine O'Clock News tapes from a place in England called KJW Trading. They're on Ebay. I sent them cash and they came through all right.

I don't know what's wrong with Movies Unlimited. When I sent them cash before, (well concealed, of course) they always sent my stuff, but the last time, 2 years ago, they didn't. When I wrote them asking where my stuff was, they told me they (get this!) LOST my order and for me to send them a copy of the check and they'd send it. Well, I sent cash and I told them that. I never heard from them again! Crooks! Don't deal with them. I haven't since! They could really stand to come down a little on their tapes, too.
