I like it (dare I say) better than the series.

I didn't know there was a film till last year, I'd only been watching the show for a few months- but then I bought the movie dvd. It's a great film- but I hated the football games ending. Most of the rest of it was fantastic- and I know someone else who I thought was crazy for liking the cats of the film better than the series cast.

I've never seen it, but I'm trying to find it. I want to see how it compares to the show.

NO,only one actor from the show was in the movie, Gary Burghoff as Radar.

Yeah, Burghoff as Radar was the only one to make it over to the series.

However, the movie was chockful of future stard... Donald Sutherland, Elliot Gould, Rene Auberjoinois, Robert Duvall, Sally Kellerman...

I thought Elliot Gould was a better Trapper than the tv counterpart. Robert Altman must have been really opposed to the tv series (I've owned the dvd from last year, only watched it a few times and just realised there's audio commentary- something I used to never watch on dvd) cos what I've heard of the audio commentary so far he keeps referring to the series as 'that show'.

One dissapointing part of the film is Klinger wasn't in it- he's one of my favourite MASH characters.

Maybe we shouldn't speak too much about MASH- we might remind movie execs that the film still exists and they'll try remake it.

Yeah I can see it now:

Hawkeye - Matt Damon
Trapper - Ben Affleck
Duke - Colin Farrell
Frank - Freddie Prinze Jr
Hot Lips - Sarah Michelle Gellar
Henry - Al Pacino (playing with same personality from his last 10 movies)

Boy that sounds like a big piece of crap.
Right up Hollywood's one brain cell alley.

Maybe they'll even cast Danny DeVito as Radar.

They couldn't make it any worse, in my opinion.
