The past few episodes I have seen on TV Land do not have Grady, but another black man who looks similar to him. Were these shows filmed while Grady starred on his own short lived series?

He was the ex-con who Fred didn't like at first when Hutch told him that he was in prison for awhile. One of the episodes that they were in was where Fred tries to sell Whopper Choppers and they go to the TV studio and Fred goes unto the set and demonstrates the product to the audience. I was thinking about that myself if they were trying to start something going with Fred and Hutch together. Yes the episodes with Fred's new sidekick was during the time Grady was on his own show which ran from December 1975 to March 1976. jekouptown 07-07-2003, 12:51 PM I THINK BUBBA WOULD'VE BEEN A BETTER REPLACEMENT. theonlyest 07-09-2003, 10:30 PM I belive it was the episode "The Sanford Arms" when Hutch 1st appreared, but he introduced himself as G.F. Hutton and even appeared in the credits that way... All thru the episode, Fred refers to him as "Hutton". at what point did he become Hutch?? But ayway, a little trivia about Grady since were on the subject.... does anyone know (besides me) what Whitman Mayo did before his introduction on Sanford & Son?? jekouptown 07-11-2003, 12:56 PM Originally posted by theonlyest I belive it was the episode "The Sanford Arms" when Hutch 1st appreared, but he introduced himself as G.F.
