In season 0ne, Fred Told Lamont that Arthur Matthews son bought him a Color TV and he wants one too in the episode-"TV or not TV"

THen in season 2, Arthur Matthews Son tells Lamont that he bought his DAd a TV and he doesn't bother him at all in the episode-"Card Sharps"

Great Consistency in my opinion

in that episode with lena horne arthur came in the house with the other guys...if you listen fred tells luther(john amos) to have a seat..then he looks at the other men and says arthur. Do you think this is arthur matthews he is telling to have a seat.? we know two of the men (leroy and skillet) but the other two we dont know.

Yup that's Arthur Matthews. That's amazing that you caught that. So there is consistency about the arthur matthews character between 3 episodes instead of two episodes.

Arthur Matthews was the guys name in real life on that episode, however, there is really no clear distinction that it is indeed him other than the "Sit down Arthur."

Redd Foxx had a habit of improvising names that were often time people he knew (like Arthur Matthews) and then making tweaking it "Ugly" Arthur Matthews, Big Nose Baxtrum, etc.

Another good consistency moment was in season one when Fred throws Donna (aka The Barracuda) out of his house, she doesn't get her coat. I noticed that while watching. Then two or three episodes later he comments to her "I am glad you forgot your coat and had to come back..." There was a few episodes apart. I wouldn't have noticed had I not had the DVD.

I think that was a Blooper by Donna because Fred puts her coat on the chair and when Donna leaves she just storms out the door and forgets the coat. If you watch closely, when you see that chair again, THERE IS NO COAT-LOL. So where did the coat go if Donna didn't touch it? So i think they Added that story about her forgetting the coat.

You know they had a small circle of friends. He knew everyone at the pool hall. It is before the episode where his son says he brought him a t.v. so lets just imagine..*l*
