I just have a question, on future rounds do I need to just answer the bonuses ans gas stops?

No, each new round will have a listing of what the round is worth. EXAMPLE:

MPH Average of 3 hours
0 Correct = 0 MHP (Major car problems)
1 C = 67 MPH (Going with the flow of traffic) = 201 miles
2 C = 79 MPH (Now you're talken) = 237 miles
3 C = 88 MPH (What, are we going Back to the Future?) = 264 miles
4 C = 94 MPH (Can't read traffic signs at this speed) = 282 miles
5 C = 75 MPH (Sudden carburetor problems) = 225 miles
6 C or more = 55 MPH (The police are taking you down town for questioning) = 165 miles

Go off of each scale listed in each round. In this case, answering 4 general questions would be the maximum number needed to reach the maximum number of points. Answering more, starts to decrease your score. Why did I do it this way? In the past 2Trivia4Me contests, I would have one person answer all of the questions to each round, leaving nothing for the others. It's not a good contest to have one person scoring over a thousand points and the others scoring somewhere around 50 pts.

In short, read through the scale at each round to know how many questions you need to answer for the best possible score. Rounds that do not have a scale, do not have accumulation penalties.

And may I add, you can check your current round status by looking up you car information at each round posting. At (or near) the bottom of your car information is "Current Status:" which will break down your points for that round.
EXAMPLE:
Current Status: Round 4 = 94 MPH + 3 MPH BONUS = 97 MPH x 3 (Because this round is for a 3 hour drive time) = 291 + 20.0 (CHECKPOINT bonus) = 311 miles currently traveled in Round 4
