Has anyone else seen this movie? What did you think? It was ok.I think I liked it more than the original as it was darker and (being the 80's) had better special effects.

It was ok.I think I liked it more than the original as it was darker and (being the 80's) had better special effects. onefortheroad 07-06-2003, 12:40 PM ive never seen it, i want to though webuster 07-06-2003, 03:57 PM Is this the one were there's a new character with a pumpkin for a head and the guy built into the stone wall wearing the ruby slippers(which- this time ARE real slippers)- and the wheelies!(We've talked in school about wheelies for ages, it scared people who saw the film apparently!). if so yeh then I liked that film. Brandon 07-06-2003, 04:24 PM yeah, i have it. got it when i was 9 or somethin. i like it. it's okay. it doesn't go with the first, but it's alrite Central Perk 07-06-2003, 09:17 PM I thought it was a pretty good movie, but I prefer the original. sara 07-07-2003, 01:10 AM I really liked it. Fairuza Balk was in it. My brothers were scared of the wheelies, and the lady who could take off her head really freaked me out. Ever though this movie had better effects, I wish the costumes of the scarcrow, tin man, and lion were better. They should have made them closer to they way they looked in the Wizard of Oz. MandieR1980 07-07-2003, 12:35 PM Yes I'm a fan of it and I also have the DVD webuster 07-07-2003, 05:31 PM Having just found out this was the movie I thought it was- I do like this film. However- imdb has two entries for Return to oz- one a much less known one- read the plot, it basically seems like a wizard of oz rehash- and search it up and check the page on amazon- tinman's called rusty, the lion, scarecrow have new names: Rather than adapt a later or create a new Oz story, this production has Dorothy still in posession of the shoes, and she clings to an apple tree during a tornado which takes her back to Oz. The Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Lion (using the names created for the nearly-abstract television series, Tales of the Wizard of Oz, from which this was derived) have had their MGM gifts destroyed by the restored Wicked Witch, and the four proceed to the Wizard for help, who is ineffectual as usual. Adamantium 07-08-2003, 01:13 AM I just bought it on DVD. I like the movie. I rented it when I was young and the movie used to scare me. |
