Here's how the CHECKPOINTS work:

The very first posting that causes you to reach a check point starts time in your favor.

In a race with checkpoints, racers clock in and then they get to leave that check point that much earlier than the drivers that came in to the check point after them.

So, your estimated time of arrival at CHECKPOINT ONE is midnight (11:59 PM) Saturday July 5th. You get 5 miles added to your score for every hour you make it before midnight. But those who arrive after midnight, do not get miles deducted.

Howard nearly drank out of the glass Richie was drinking out of. Richie insisted that that was his favorite glass and that he take his glass up to his room. When Howard went upstairs to see why Richie acting so obsessive over the glass, he found Richie in the bathroom carefully cleaning the glass.
