Do you guys ever think that Three's Company would end up going in the same direction if Chrissy was to stay throughout the show's entirity? I mean, would it have ended the same way, would Jack's Bistro really need to exist, etc.? It's just something I have pondered for a while.

Three's Company has some continuity, but the episodes are compartmentalized, meaning a story begins and ends with a single episode or two. Since there isn't a storyline that runs throughout the season like a soap opera or drama, Chrissy would not likely have affected the direction of the show significantly simply because there really isn't a direction to the show.

If Chrissy stayed on, the individual episodes would be different but more so the overall "feel" of Three's Company. Chrissy was getting dumber as the series went on and, in my opinion, the introduction of Terri's character was a breath of fresh air, but Terri didn't dramaticly change the direction of the show in that although her character was different, her role as confidant and roommate were not.

One of the biggest affects of Chrissy leaving the show was on the ratings. Would Three's Company have been on the air longer if she wasn't replaced? Who knows.
