he also has over 40 more ab's to get those too...and stealing doesnt have to do with hitting, but I am not trying to bash Soriano cuz there is no doubt that he is a good young player but this year, or up to this point in the year I think that Todd Walker is doing better

I can't wait for this year's All Star Game. This year it will determine which league will get home field advantage in the World Series (hopefully the NL - I want the Atlanta Braves to represent the NL in the World Series). :D

I hated last year's 7-7 tie. They should make a rule that you can come back into the game if you're substituted.

The All Star game doesn't have anything to do with the teams that ultimatately battle their way into the World Series. Not a good idea; a promotional scheme that I hope will fall by the wayside.

What managers should do is allow some of the pitchers to pitch more than one or two measly innings, and they sould keep most of the starting lineup in the game longer. They didn't use to do this thing where they try to get everyone into the game like they do now. That why they used up all of their players before the game ended. That's a Little League mentality of managing. Major leaguers aren't going to cry if they happen to not get to play, lol.

I wouldn't think that this year's All-Star Game would determine next year's home advantage in the All-Star Game since the AL and NL usually alternate locations each year.

I know they alternate from American to National in the All Star games. I don't know why you are bringing that up in reply to what I wrote.? The new deal is that the all star game will determine the home-field advantage in the World Series. That's what I think is a bad idea.

Why? I personally see it as the All-Star Game is still fun for the players playing it and the fans watching it, but now there is actually something to play for and what could be better than the home-field advantage in the World Series.

Really and truly, if a team is good, then they could win The World Series whether they had home-field advantage in the World Series or not, but I would just feel more comfortable knowing that my team has more home games than my opponent.

Actually, there used to be something to play for. The teams and players played to win the All Star game. Like I said before, they didn't used to make so many substitutions like they do now. They got most of the players into the game still but there was an intense seriousness and pride about winning the game. Now it seems like little more than an exibition game which to me, holds little interest. I like to see major leagers play to win.

The reason I don't like the All Star game having any bearing on the World Series home-field advantage is because there is no direct connection. Most of the players in the all star game won't be going to the World Series, and they pretty well know that at the time of the All Star break. They don't care if the team that beats them out of a chance to go to the World Series gets the home-field advantage. It doesn't make sense to have that riding on the outcome of the All Star game. But, we'll see if the managers play to win more so than they have in the past years. If they do, then that would be an improvement.
