Did you ever think that if witches with the kind of powers in this show (which are essentially the powers to do anything) really existed, they would probably be ruling the world? I've often wondered how a good witch like Samantha could allow so much suffering to continue in the world when she seemed to have the ability to solve everything with just a twitch of her nose (the same with Jeannie and her blink). Of course, I'm looking wayyy too deeply into these sitcoms. LOL

Sam preferred to do things in the "mortal" way, so even in episodes like "It's Magic", where she could have easily zapped up money for charity, she earns it the normal way. Besides, she described herself as only a "little witch", and probably wouldn't have the kind of power to change the entire world by magic. When she did do kind things for others by twitching, they were small things.

A more powerful witch like Endora didn't care less about humans, so she's the type who let humans get themselves into their own messes - they don't need her help. ;)
