for people who are working this summer where and how much are you getting paid...if you work in the so-called "real world" you dont need to share...

Right now I am about finished with my job at a fitness center. I get paid the minimum ($6.75) I'm looking to get a job as a custodian at the local YMCA where I go to work out.

I get paid $5.50 an hour at Family Dollar. :barf: It's better than nothing, though.

7.75$ not to bad, considering its my first real job...and I get a 20 % discount

12 dollars start....then after a few months it goes to 14! thats pretty good for being a janitor.

I start work in August... I'll be working at Red Roze Pizzeria and I'll start off at something like $7.50 an hour

I'm like 14- in the town I'm in, cos you're supposed to be 16 to work- you only get jobs if you have a hell of alot of connections- or stupid. I say that cos one job that IS available to everyone involves carrying lots of crates, screwing up your back and for just about minimum wage, while if you have connections you can get a job doing nothing for minimum wage. There's another place, it's like purgatory for the unemployed, a food processing plant, where anyone can work. You can also pick vegetables, yet it's hard work after bending for hours picking peas with a knife, and it's crappy- i would go for picking food, cos then you have a snack... Who knows- the job I'd LOVE to have and would never pass up would be working at the cinema cos if you're setting the prjector you can stand around in the room, making sure everyone behaves AKA: Free movie!

I get $5.50 an hour working at a nearby children's department store. It's not worth it, I tell yah. I should get paid AT LEAST $7.00 an hour, lol.
But it's my first job, so hey-- money's money. :p

Yesterday was my first day and I'm already dead-pooped. Eight hours is too much! :o

As you can see, I took the day off today. :D ( But that's only 'cause I had to attend school-- LAST DAY! :woohoo: :woohoo: )

But lots of people work under minimum wage-- I know a few people myself. ;)

The guy I work for pays me $50 a day, something like $5 per hour. A note to everyone, don't get a job that includes physical labor!

Min. wage is 5.50 here, but I get 5.75 at A&W. Ick.

I get paid $9.25 an hour. Not bad i guess.
