I know nothing about these new guys except that the "real" punk rockers can't stand em. But a few days ago, I actually heard them for the 1st time & Man, I gotta admit- I liked what I heard. Caught a song on the radio called "Boys & Girls". No, I don't think they'll change rock music or stick around for more than another 5 years, but this one song was catchy. I was told by a punk/metal-loving friend that these kids had the nerve to say they were the next Sex Pistols. Such an outrageous statement couldn't've been serious. Probably said for the sake of getting attention. (ala Oasis- "We're the next Beatles")

Anyway, based on this one song, I like em. Good power pop. I have a soft spot for this maligned genre because of guys like Cheap Trick, Sweet etc. I even heard a hint of Beatles influence in the bassline. I just *may* end up getting this cd...maybe. :)

I like Good Charlotte. This CD is great.

I like a few of their songs(Boys and Girls not being one of them).

I'm a die-hard Good Charlotte fan, both of their CD's are awesome, but they are not Punk. Far from it. If anything, they are like a sappy-Punk-Pop. They aren't the Sex Pistols, nor are they The Clash, but I still like 'em :D

I hate them! they suck! and they have annoying lisps! so i can't even watch that 1 thing they host cuz they're so annoying! and there songs are stupid.

I'm not a huge fan, but I do like their song "The Young and the Hopeless." It's a good song...but they are not punk. I'm gonna agree with Karly, they are" sappy-Punk-Pop."

I dont really have an opinion about them. Their songs arent that bad, but theyre not something I would download. I tolerate them but think Joel is such a hottie! IMO theyre the new boyband for 2003. 2000-2001 was NSYNC & BSB, and now the boybands/groups have turned into the punk pop. The only difference to me about the boybands from the boygroups is that they play instruments and dress more on the "edge"- but the music is all the same. Its like that whole Avril thing- shes pop too IMO even though her music style is a bit different. Shes the Britney Spears for 2003.

I love Good Charlotte. Even though half the songs on The Young and the Hopeless annoy me...

well, I am not wild over GC, but unlike Hilary Duff, at least I know adults who are aware of their works who aren't parents of 7-12 year old girls.

Okay my opinions have changed. I don't hate them, but I don't love them either. They get on my nerves. Benji and Joel are the most annoying people...oh my god. And a lot of their songs are extremely stupid and have no point.

Look, I know lotsa people hate em & whatnot. They won't be around forever & they're not even close to the bands I mentioned in the original post, but they're catchy. For someone who tries to listen to a lot of music, I do hear an old school influence in their sound.

Good Charlotte ROCKS! I understand that the songs are about their lives, but they're sooooooooo repetitive and a lot of em are just plain stupid.

No one cares about lisps.

God, I can't stand Benji and Joel. Whenever I'm up late and flip through the channels, they're always hosting some video countdown on MTV. I like the countdown but I haaaate the part where they comment on the videos, then they think they say something funny and become all quiet like they're expecting people to laugh.

There's no worse feeling of pain in the world then watching the "twins". They're the male MK&A, only grundgier.

My only problem with Good Charlotte is that they are completely commercialized. It's not even FOR the music anymore, it's corporations making money off of Mtv videos and shows. I'm sorry but I just get turned off when I see that the band did not write at least 2 of their songs. I mean they aren't outstanding singers, or musicians...I guess I looked for some sort of poetry or dare I say meaning to their music and found nothing.

It's all just a big scam to get you to buy their things.
