I know this is kinda random, but could somebody tell me a little bit about what the "Little Chill" episode is about, other than a reunion with the Eastland girls?

Thanks.

Okay. Here's what happens.

Nancy, Sue Ann, and Cindy return.

Nancy is engaged to Roger and is three months pregnant

Sue Ann says that she's vice president of this big company and spends the whole time bragging about everything she's done and the girls keep saying how proud they are

Cindy is a model

----------

Most of the episode is about them remembering different episodes in the first season, the Jo will ask what happened and Sue Ann will reply "You had to be there" and after about three times Jo gets tired of Sue Ann saying that and they get into a fight and Jo leaves. Jo comes back later that night and the girl are sleeping in the bedroom and Jo's on the couch. Sue Ann comes down and phones a friend and asks for her to cover for her and that all she needs to do is be a gopher revealing that Sue Ann is not a vice pres. but really a gopher. So now Jo know S.A.'s secret, but the next day when everyone leaves, S.A. is about to admit it, but Jo keeps her from doing it, so Jo and S.A. become friends. That's about it. Oh yeah, and Molly isn't in it.

Molly wouldn’t do it, huh?

I just watched this on DailyMotion. Can’t believe I forgot it existed.

It's my favorite Season Eight episode. The Lost Girls at last return, and take their revenge on Warren Littlefield!

Molly wouldn’t do it, huh?

At the time this episode was taped, Molly had done many popular films, and had recently graced the cover of Time Magazine. She'd recently stated in a 1986 interview that her sole guest spot in Season Two of FOL had been her "worst job ever".

She didn't need FOL anymore, and I suspect she would have turned them down even if they'd offered her a million dollars.

So we "only" get Felice and the Julies, which is still VERY wonderful; just wish Edna had been there to welcome her Lost Girls home! :(

This episode is pretty stupid in how Cindy, Nancy and Sue Ann say they never knew Jo which is not true. When Jo worked in the cafeteria, she interacted with those girls a few times.

Yet they still used a clip where Molly spoke.
(A funny clip overall too. The box full of lingerie. "I could make history in this")

They even mentioned Molly. :) I can't remember if it's in the DVD versions or not, but someone here in an older thread said that when they were showing the other girls Over Our Heads, Tootie said she called Molly but "her mom said she was busy". They wondered if that was a sly little allusion to Molly Ringwald's then sizzling hot career.

How about "The Even Littler Chill"? It would have been interesting to see Molly be in the episode too, and, akin to Cindy having become a model, Molly became an actress and went to Hollywood! She could have had an easy way up the ladder, and Tootie could be jealous and envious of her, eventually souring the reunion. But then of course Molly promises to get Tootie connections, and all ends well, lol.

That would have been a nice nod to Molly Ringwald's film career.

And, that way we wouldn't have Sue Ann ending her Eastland run by being painted in a negative light. :-\

Well they said "You remember Jo?" alluding to the fact that they met but never really hung out.

It is. Cindy asks about Molly and Tootie replies she called but her mom said she's busy, very busy. Regardless of how Molly felt about the show firing her, she could have at least returned for the fans that wanted closure and the girls on set that like her. This is another reason I don't care for Molly. In real life, Molly Ringwald appears very stuck up. She doesn't care about her fans or the people she works with. Her acting definitely isn't that great and she doesn't have any real awards, so she needs to come back down to earth and be thankful for the jobs she's had. Every job an actor has helps them get into bigger parts. The Facts of Life did help her stay current for that short time she was on and she should be thankful. Look at Lisa. She left acting after FOL and she's realizing it's hard to try to get back into it. She's a better sitcom actress than Molly but she'll possibly never get anything because she's a has-been.

Ishe could have at least returned

We don't know if she had even been asked. Or maybe there was a schedule conflict with a movie. That would be a fan question well worth asking, should any of us ever meet or have lunch with some of the cast.

I'm okay with the line. They met her, but they never knew her very well. They indicate that with Tootie's line, "And you remember Jo..." They just were never close.

Which also leads me to believe that Cindy was very lonely during her last year at Eastland: she didn't have Sue Ann anymore after Sue Ann graduated, and the Core Four were off doing their own thing at Edna's Edibles, leaving Cindy behind at Eastland, without even her roommate. Who would she have bunked with? Hopefully not Adequate Brenda!

Exactly. But 17 years ago, that was THE opinion at this board. I didn't understand it either, because I too saw how they acknowledged that the girls knew Jo, just not well.

Also, why do you insist on making Cindy's last years at Eastland sad?? lol...she had Molly, Nina, and her pick of Brenda, Emily, Lucy, Girl #1, Dawn, Annie, and a "slew" of others! lol

In real life, Molly Ringwald appears very stuck up.

I definitely got that feeling after reading Molly's book, which was all about what to do with the corks after you drink the champagne in a quaint restaurant in Paris, when you run into that adorable patisserie vendor near Notre Dame, and your personal assistant doesn't have change for a thousand dollar bill.

But I think -- and it's my hope -- that Molly is gradually coming back down to Earth. She wished Charlotte a happy birthday a couple of years ago, via video, and she spoke about FOL a couple of years ago as well, and talked about how heartbroken she was about the Cast Purge.

Well, you raise a good point: Girl #1 would have made a good roommate!

I kid, I kid. But seriously, there must have been plenty of Emilys to room with...

I don't mind Sue Ann being caught in a lie. Yeah, the lying wasn't good, but she was about to come clean when Jo covered for her. It felt like they were finally becoming friends.

And seeing Sue Ann getting a decent episode after so long felt very good. Julie Pie knocked it out of the park with this one: when Sue Ann says the next time she claims to be a VP, she'll be a VP, I believe her.

I just wish it had been a three-parter so we could have gotten the Sue Ann storyline, a Cindy storyline, and a Nancy storyline, all fully fleshed out... with surprise cameo by Mrs. Garrett! Molly! Howard! Mr. and Mrs. Mahoney-Bradley! Chef Antoine! And Cousin Geri! I know, I know... but a fanboy can dream...

Say, did you guys ever think of the cafeteria "Alison" episode (season 3's "A Baby in the House" ---"Blairy Pie!" "Alikins!") as a "pre-Little Chill" show? Kind of a forerunner of TLC? Think about it: a former schoolmate of Blair, Natalie, and Tootie comes back for a reunion visit, and while they're having "old home week" in the girls' room, Jo is "left out in the cold", being the outsider who never knew Alison.

This is one of my favorite episodes of FOL ever, I couldn't wait when I saw the preview for this. I loved the Lost Girls, and I was only 13 years old when The Little Chill originally aired. I couldn't wait to see Cindy Webster. She was so cool imho. Sure the episode should of been better and a two parter, but Cindy, Sue Ann, and Jo shined in this ep. And I too wish Mrs. G would of been involved.

I know what you mean. Just seeing them back was such a relief. I'm sure I cried and cried on the first watch. Even today, I get a little chill watching.

The triumphant return of characters who might as well have been dead, or at least locked away. And here they were, back from their basement exile. Cindy, Sue Ann, Nancy, and even Molly in flashbacks.

99% certain her response would be a snotty, "Really? The show that fired me?" My belief if you're going to become an actor, you're doing it for fans. You're showing them your talent and you want them to be entertained. You're not doing it for yourself. The performer isn't the one keeping themselves famous; it's the fans who want to continue seeing their work. Molly comes across as someone who doesn't get that. I look at you guys who really love Molly's character and it amazes me why because Molly doesn't care at all about the fans like you guys. It's only how she felt and how she doesn't like being fired. I think the only valid reason not to return to a show or movie franchise is if there was abuse on set. Molly wasn't mistreated by any of the girls. She's never said anything about mistreatment from the crew members. So it's really her big head why she doesn't want anything to do with this show and slap all you fans of hers in the face.

I definitely got that feeling after reading Molly's book, which was all about what to do with the corks after you drink the champagne in a quaint restaurant in Paris, when you run into that adorable patisserie vendor near Notre Dame, and your personal assistant doesn't have change for a thousand dollar bill.

Yep. It's very easy to tell she's stuck up. I don't get it either. Her acting isn't that great. She's very dull in her performances as Archie's mother on Riverdale. The only 80's movie I saw of hers was The Breakfast Club and she wasn't even worth mentioning when you had the talents of the other cast members in the film.

She really needs to grow as a person and let go about the cast changes in season 2. The other girls took the news with respect and still honored their fans like a performer should by continuing guest appearances and coming back years later in season 8 for a reunion episode. Molly needs to realize acting is for the fans, not yourself.
