He was deceased by 1984. I wonder if Elvis liked the show but couldn't perform because of contract reasnos. That Colonel Ton Parker! Pat 06-26-2003, 10:08 PM I have that on my CD as well and I'm 99% sure it was Elvis. Pat 06-26-2003, 10:11 PM Originally posted by wayne It probably wasn't Elvis. He was deceased by 1984. I'm sure it was a recording from Elvis. wayne 06-27-2003, 02:54 AM You're sadly mistaken. How can a dead person make a recording? Come on! Elvis died in 1977, so he couldn,t have recorded it. In fact, all of Elvis' "hits" for the show were made by contract singers. So forget about Elvis doing "Memories". It does'nt sound at ALL like him.I also know because I LOVE "memories" & the difference obvious to me. I think someone named Ike Cole did the Elvis songs. Pat 06-27-2003, 07:42 PM Wayne my friend, I'm not trying to upset you, I'm just saying that I believe that Elvis recorded "Memories" before he died and they used that song on the last episode. It doesn't sound like a song that Elvis would sing? Who would have ever thought that someone with the nickname of "Elvis the Pelvis" (no offense) would have sung so many gospel songs? By-the-way, Elvis Rocks!!! wayne 06-27-2003, 09:21 PM I know Elvis did it. It probably was from his tv special. I don't mean to be upset, just trying to set the record straight. If it was Elvis it probably was a recording he made in 1969. I agree, Elvis is da man. By the way did you know he hated to be called "king" as much as he hated the name "the pelvis." I hope he's with God. If you look at the singers, you'll notice the name Ike Cole. Like I said the producers probably wanted Elvis. I think Elvis loved hd too. Unfornately the Colonel wouldn't let him do it. Flash72 07-04-2003, 04:20 PM Usually when Elvis is heard singing on tv shows or movies it is not the real thing, but is in fact Elvis soundalike Ronnie McDowell. McDowell also is remembered for his 1977 tribute to Elvis in the song "King is Gone" as well as doing Elvis' singing voice in the 1979 tv movie "Elvis"starring Kurt Rusell in the title role. |
