By now, I think we're all familiar with Harris' creative ways of referring to Bellview Hospital. Something that may not be that apparent is the variety of ways in which Dietrich tells people to have a seat. I've been noticing that lately; maybe it's just me! :)
The few times Barney has tried to tell jokes, nobody laughs.
The only policeman in the Precint who has ever openly cried is Luger.
This is a correction to a previous observation. The only ones who played the same characters throughout the whole 8 seasons were Barney, Wojo, Harris and... Marty. As a matter of fact, Mary made his first appearance in the second episode! Darryl Driscoll (Marty's boyfriend) didn't show up until the second season. The only other one that may qualify is Arnold Ripner (the lawyer), but he also played a signature forger one time.

maclen About characters openingly crying; I remember Chano breaking down and sobbing, and didn't Fish cry when he was about to retire?
And Harris broke down after he lost the lawsuit :crying:

You're right. I guess I was thinking about them crying in front of the others. Chano was by himself when he broke down and cried, Fish didn't really cry (his voice broke) and he was in the office with Barney, and Harris was drunk, but it qualifies because it was in front of the others!

I still use one of Dietrich's lines in my own life, (paraphrasing to fit the situation):"Four desks, no waiting". With a well-known tv reporter:"Want to step over to the 'Action Desk'?"
