LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen have made a longterm commitment to each other and they seem to be doing the same with CBS. The couple, who individually topline a CBS drama and comedy, are shooting the telefilm "Surviving Love" for the network.
Written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Beth Henley ("Crimes of the Heart" ) and directed by Peabody Award-winner Steven Schachter ("Door to Door" ), "Surviving Love" focuses on a couple (Danson and Steenburgen) married for 20 years. While their relationship seems strong, they're approaching divorce. When they're stranded together in a snowstorm, they're forced to open up to each other.
The film has just begun shooting in Calgary.
Danson and Steenburgen have been starring in a variety of projects together in recent years. From films like "Pontiac Moon" to miniseries like "Gulliver's Travels" to series work on the short-lived "Ink" and cameos on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" they've have mixed results as a duo.
As individuals, Danson's "Becker" was just given a 13-episode order to return to CBS at midseason, while Steenburgen co-stars in the network's new drama "Joan of Arcadia."
