And Norm had beer all 11 seasons, as for Diane and Sam's love was on and off and eventually failed after season 5. Think about it. Diane and Sam's attraction, while making for some very funny episodes, Norm and his beer had a real relationship. He relied on his beer in a way that Sam and Diane could never manage. Just look at his discussion about heaven w/ Sam in One for the Road. I only hope that one day, I can have a relationship that dependable and that meaningful.
