I was wondering what everyone's favorite spin-off is. Good Times is one spin-off that I watched a lot, but I think my favorite was Laverne and Shirley.

You have to choose another spinoff because Good Times is not really a spinoff. But i am glad you like the show because it's not that many Good Times fans on here.

My favorite spin-off is The Facts of Life, my second favorite spin-off is Laverne & Shirley, and my third favorite spin-off, last but not least is Maude.

Laverne & Shirley is definitely my all-time favorie spin-off. No doubt about that. Besides L&S, my other favorite spin-offs are The Jeffersons, Mork and Mindy, The Brady Brides, and Family Matters.

Why do you go by ONE article, and ONE person, that says that Good Times isn't a spinoff, while the rest of us go by a whole bunch of websites, articles, other statements, etc? You have very little proof.

No one else has posted any supporting facts that support Good Times is a spinoff. I'm still waiting.

Maude had a character named Florida Evans. Good Times had a character named Florida Evans. They were played by the same actress. There's your damn supporting fact (which, I might add, everyone else has posted. If you'd read the messages, you'd know that.)

Mmhmm. And her husband was on Maude was played by the same person who played her husband on Good Times, even if his name did change.

There is a lot more publications supporting Good Times being a spinoff, and one article and your opinions cannot change the opinions of many others. And many people have posted things about why Good Times is a spinoff, which *~PinkLady59~* also pointed out.

As for my favorite spinoff, it would have to be Laverne & Shirley. I liked it a great deal more than Happy Days.

The Jeffersons, Maude, Good Times(It definately is a spin-off of "Maude" because 1 episode she mentioned she used to be a maid for starters), Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy,Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. these are good because they didn't have to rely on the parent shows for adrenelin. They had their own followings.

Without a doubt, Laverne & Shirley is my all-time favorite spinoff. Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall were outstanding in their roles. As for others, I just picked up 70+ episodes of Mork & Mindy, and it's easy to see where Robin Williams gets his stardom from. Next, I enjoyed Joanie Loves Chachi. It all came from "Happy Days". For non-HD spinoffs, "Facts of Life" ranks up there, and soon, "Rhoda" might join the list. Finally, I enjoy "Mama's Family", because of VIcki Lawerence's character played perfectly.

Wasn't Kevin James character on Raymond named Kevin? Even though he was a UPS driver I don't think it was Doug Heffernan, thus not a spinoff (some would argue).

My pet peeve would be calling something a spinoff, when there was an intentional appearance written on an existing show used as a launch for a new series.

It was stated that Good Times was not a spinoff in a 1975 Ebony Magazine.

You are incorrect Solomon, your article did say the character of Florida Evans was spunoff of Maude. YOUR ARTICLE SAID THAT!

The only true way to find the answer is to email or write Norman Lear or the creators of "Good Times", Mike Evans is one of them.
