This was especially true during the latter half of the 5th season, and all throughout the last season. I agree that both played their parts just wonderfully throughout the entire show's run (with the possible exception of Jerry Mathers in the last season -- he seemed a bit disinterested), and they were such different personalities. However, if push comes to shove, I'd say Wally, as he most definitely had that je ne sais quoi... and had great reactions to all the other characters, which I think is very important. :cheers: Kudos to both Wally and The Beave.
