I recently found that the characters were fired from the TV station in the last episode. I was just wondering why since I never seen the Last episode.

Basically, a new owner takes over WJM and decides to "improve" the news. Unfortunately, he fires everybody else, and keeps Ted!! That irony is pretty much what makes the finale so great. I think the writers chose that route so they could do a "farewell" episode, and bring back Rhoda and Phyllis too.

Hope that helps,
Kristen

He said something about the problem with the WJM news being "behind the camera." It's definitely worth seeing. Let me know if you want a copy of it.

No, he left the show when Good Times started. He did make one more guest appearance after that, though, in "Hail the Conquering Gordy."
