View Full Version : To Pavanbadal or Others: ABC Family, UPN Kids, FOX BOX and Cartoon Network Inquiries
ClassicComedyFan2 06-20-2003, 03:14 PM To anyone who might know, thanks in advance!
ABC Family
1. Searching TV listings online, I noticed "Tokyo Pig" was gone from the lineup? Is this permanently gone? Or on hiatus?
2. There has been a commerical hinting at "Fantastic Four," "Iron Man," "Silver Surfer," and "The Avengers" joining the lineup. I see one episode of both FF and IM on the Hulk-a-Thon, but that's all so far. Any word on a regular timeslot?
3. Any chance of "Garfield and Friends" coming back?
Cartoon Network
1. There has been a rumor that former ABC Family show "Totally Spies" could be joining Cartoon Network next month. Any truth to this rumor?
2. Any chance of "Sailor Moon" coming back?
3. Earlier, it was mentioned that 100 more Pokemon episodes were purchased. Are these the "Johto" episodes? (3rd Season)
UPN Kids
1. I know that this block provided by Disney will stop in September. Any buzz on where the shows on this lineup (especially "Digimon" "Buzz Lightyear" and "Recess") will go after that?
FOX BOX
1. My local Birmingham FOX affilate doesn't show the FOX BOX for some reason. I am going to e-mail them soon inquiring as to why. Is there any channel that shows "Kirby" or is going to show "Sonic X?" If not, what should I do?
Thanks a bunch, and if there was any inconvience, my apologies in advance!

I'll answer some:
#2 for ABC Family: Those two (Fantastic Four and Iron Man) are airing as part of a Hulk-a-thon. Primarily the 90s Hulk cartoon is airing, but on Sunday at 11:30am ET the classic 80s one is airing. None of these are joining the regular line-up as of now. No mention of Avengers or Silver Surfer.
#3 for ABC Family: No one has bought Garfield this season. Garfield will have 2 specials though this fall, a 25th Anniversary documentary on Discovery and Travel Channel and a PBS documentary this November.
UPN Kids: I think most of those are or going to air on Toon Disney/Disnet.

My Turn! My Turn (OK, that made me look about 10 years younger than I am)
Cartoon Network*
1)Totally Spies joins the Cartoon Network schedule effective July 14th (Monday - Friday, 4:30 PM EST)
2)As of the End of July (The latest CN sched I have is week of 7-28), Sailor Moon has NOT rejoined the schedule
UPN*
Buzz Lightyear and Recess DEFINITELY to Toon Disney (possibly even the main Disney channel), no idea about Digimon.
FOX BOX*
You might wanna check alternate time slots to see if your affil moved it somewhere else. Just because they don't air in the conventional slot dosen't mean they don't air it at all (If they doon't air it AT ALL, then, yeah, I'd be writing them)....this may be a misunderstood thing by me, but I could have SWORN that affiliates must air network programming (not necessarily at the recommended time, but it eventually has to be aired)\
And, while I'm at it, I have a question. What happened to approx 1500 posts in my post count. I went from around 2200 to 650-ish

Although I can't help with any of the questions, King is right about this part. I've noticed my local NBC doesn't air the Discovery Kids block as scheduled, but do air most of the shows later that day, or Sunday, so check around your tv listings for the shows, your Fox affiliate may just air Fox Box at a different time or day...
ClassicComedyFan2 06-22-2003, 12:03 PM Thanks for the info!!!
And, I've checked. FOX BOX programming airs nowhere on my local FOX affilate, at any time. I guess its time to be writing them...
ClassicComedyFan2 06-23-2003, 12:03 PM Here's my response from the FOX6 programming department. A note, WTTO was our former FOX affilate.
Thanks for your interest in FOX6 Programming. Thanks for your interest in FOX6 Programming.
We are not affiliated with FOX Kids therefore we cannot air any of their
programs. If you live away from Birmingham you might be able to see it on
another FOX station...Huntsville, Montgomery, etc. FOX Kids is a seperate network.
I wish I could give you better news. FOX Kids was aired several years on WTTO,
however they chose to drop their affiliation with FOX Kids a few years back.
Once that occurred FOX Kids was no longer available in the Birmingham market.
Thanks again for writing. Have a good week!
Wayne Farrell
FOX6 Programming Dept.
ClassicComedyFan2 06-24-2003, 10:31 AM I was searching the TV Listings at Tvguide.com and "Tokyo Pig" showed up for 7/5 and 7/6 at 10 Central AM!!!! So, it would seem this great anime isn't dead after all!!!!

You might want to check the schedules on your other local stations. I live in Phoenix, Arizona and our local WB affiliate airs the FoxBox on Sunday mornings, they've aired FoxKids since the early 1990's.
