I think she is saying, MOST 11 year olds, NOT all, have a tendency to act "not quite grown up", because they are still in the transition stage from childhood to pooberty (that's NOT the head honcho of the Order of the Water Buffalos on The Flintstones, the Grand Pooberty), so in that transition period, you guys are in the process of making adult-type decisions, being oneself, making one's own opinions, dealing with peer group stuff, trying to retain individuality as well as "fit in" with the dudez N' chicks. As well as dealing with the hormonal scene of interacting with males/females of the opposite species (yeah, the SEX thing). So it's not so much a matter of being an "immature little dumbass", it's a matter of making decisions before one is ready, or still making decisions based on childlike reasoning, maybe PRE-mature is the proper word.

So I think when littleputz goes on and sends snotty e-mails, in a lot of ways he is still thinking like a kid, that it's "cute and funny,"
but he is not being considerate of other people with whom he disagrees or has issues. Part of maturity is treating people with respect. Sam is right when she talks about maturity of some 11 year olds, remember that at the age of 13, in Jewish tradition, they celebrate young people reaching adulthood with a Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah. So even though it generally doesn't apply in our semi-WASP culture, there are still some things to think about.
