It's slated to be destroyed this septemeber. :(
It's so cool, though!
Does anyone else have one of these in their town? I know ones in NJ and NY were destroyed in the last few years.
When i was little, the tower was in a lot of my dreams - cause, you know, it's neat.

Yes. Before he moved to Kokomo, I went to school with him and his sister Andrea. They were nice people. They didn't deserve the sh*t they got from people around here, but I try to remind myself that it wasn't an isolated incident. When I think back on all that AIDS hysteria, I get pretty po'ed. Nurses refusing to care for patients and such. Educated people, or so you would think.

OMG, you went to school with Ryan White?! That's really cool! (not the whole AIDS thing though) I've read his autobiography many times and it never fails - every time I go over a rough area in his book, it makes me cry...To think about what they put him through...It was 1984 when he got diagnosed with AIDS and you would think people knew better back then, because when he got diagnosed, AIDS had only been around for three years (1981, if I have it correct). It makes me so sad he was treated so horribly. And I cried so hard at the end of his book when it said he passed away on April 8, 1990, just weeks before his junior(?) prom, and he never got to graduate from HS. :( It was also only four months into the new decade, and he never got to graduate from HS or go to his prom. :(
Okay, I'm done. I don't want to make anybody depressed...His autobiography is so touching.
I did a bit of searching and found they have a pic of his headstone online...
