After wondering who the woman with the awesome voice singing the theme was..I found out that Gloria Loring has her own web page.
Check it out-it's cool. She's a former soap opera actress and a stage/recording star.
Too bad she never was ON FoL.

She was also married to Alan Thicke (Growing Pains) who was one of the writers of the FOL theme song (and Diff'rent Strokes also)..

Gloria Loring and Charlotte Rae sang the theme in the first season, and then Gloria sang it alone.

MRS. G: Where'd you get the beer?
JO: I got beer.
*audience laughter*

MRS. G: Blair,
Blair, Blair, Blair, Blair.
BLAIR: Yes, yes, yes, yes?
MRS. G: You taught me, uhh... let me think a minute.

TOOTIE: I'm too young to play bridge, it's boring!
MRS. G: Come on tootie, try! It's fun! *giggles*
TOOTIE: I'm too young!
MRS. G: Your too young to play bridge..

BEV: Why won't you talk to me?
NAT: We're sad that Mrs. Garrett is leaving.
BEV: You know, I must admit, I am a little jealous, because Frank and I, we never had, you know, ***.
*Blair, Jo, Nat, and Tootie look at Bev strangely*

Oh I still love Growing Pains. It's shown at 2:00 here on the Disney channel. When I was younger I also had a crush on Kirk C. and was a little mad at Chelsea Noble..but I got over it.

The 80's sitcoms were great! I mean don't get me wrong..I like televison today, but I still think there's something lacking in the shows.

What do you think?

Yeah, 80's shows were 10000000000% better than shows today....I mean I like watching Friends and Will and Grace, but tv just isn't the same as it used to be http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

She also had a hit in the '80s with the ballad "Friends And Lovers (Both To Each Other)" with some guy (but I forgot his name). Great, great song. :)

I'm sure everyone knows that Leonardo DiCaprio was on it, amazing, isn't it... Like we care. Julie McCullough was on it, too. She was one of the most popular girls in Playboy, at the time.

I read that Kirk Cameron didn't want his character Mike Seaver to be a "boyfriend"-type for her, for that reason...
