Penny Lane 04-02-2004, 10:44 AM Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor Wow it sure is racy for the time it was written!(1944) I think it was banned in some areas of the US. But it is actually a very factual and historic novel about 17th Century England. Ms Winsor's account of the"Black Death" (Bubonic Plague) that wiped out over 1/3 of Europe's population is very intense reading. I'll probably read it by the end of this year - I'm behind on my leisurely reading. :lol: Right now, I'm reading "Hollywood, Interrupted" (and yes, that title was lifted from the famous Angelina Jolie movie, "Girl, Interrupted"). It's a really funny book so far, and VERY recently came out, so it's a brand-new book. Def. worth checking out. It's mighty thick but OMG. It is SO good.
