When you watch a film at home, do you need your surroundings to be a certain way, or can you watch a film regardless? Everytime I rent one of those hard to understand, if you miss one line you won't get the plot films, everyone talks to me or makes noise throughout the whole film, but if the film ain't on, silence. And if it's easy to understand, then silence too- almost like the elements don't want me to understand films. I'm just a lil crazy, cos It's hard to hear some lines in a film as it is. Anyone else that way?

When I'm watching a movie at my home or someone else's, there is an acceptable level of talking. It's okay if the comments are about the film, and they aren't every minute, but beyond a certain point, and especially if the comments have nothing to do with the film, e.g. two other people having a chat while we're all supposed to be watching, I think it's rude, and it does make it harder for me to watch. Sometimes when I'm watching a movie with other people, a couple of them are talking about something unrelated to the film, and I get the sense that they have no interest in it at all and are there only for social reasons. Now that's okay, but when they fail to perceive that it's rude to spoil the movie for the people who are interested, that's impolite.

for me it has to be quiet,lights out and I HAVE to have popcorn

I can hardly eat that much popcorn, it seems to get sickening- I just prefer sweets! I dunno why- I never buy popcorn at the cinema, too much to eat there- besides cinemas are rip-off prices. I know lots of people who don't watch a movie without popcorn, but at the end half of it is thrown on the floor though

"Close Encounters Of The Third Kind "comes to mind! I had to watch it about 3 times before I understood what in the heck was going on!
Now it is one of my favorite movies!:D

I like it to be very quiet or else I can't get into the movie. I also like to have something to eat while I watch a movie.

My parents have to stay out of the room the whole time (which never happens - arrrrgh) and I need some kind of snack or drink.

i have to be in my room alone.

Lights out, phones shut off, the big screen with the surround sound going--just me and the husband, candy and popcorn--that's the deal when I'm watching a movie.
I take it seriously. No talking over the dialog. If he happens to be in a chatty mood and starts talking about the movie, I pause it and say, 'I don't need a narrator, and there's nothing you can say now that interests me more than what's on the screen.' If I can't make out certain dialog, I play it back as many times as I need to understand it.
I don't like watching movies with friends because everyone talks over the movie. When I'm with friends, I'd rather socialize.
I'm a pain in the ass to watch a movie with. To me, watching a movie at home should be like watching it in the theater.

I like for it to be completely pitch black and minimal talking

Movies, TV shows, doesn't matter, if I want to hear what they say, my father will always pick that time to say something. And it's usually something pointless. But in silence, he doesn't say anything. It infuriates me!!! :livid:

It doesnt really matter whats going on as long as I can hear and see what I'm watching.

Now it is one of my favorite movies!:DYes I have the original 1980 release on VHS!

I wish it was the original version of this movie (The one I saw on TV where they didnt go into the ship (It seemed more mysterious)) but its still good.....

I like it dark/quiet in my room so I prefer watching at night.....

For me, the lights out with not a lot of talking.
