I always eat off of paper plates instead of regular plates because you don't have to worry about washing dishes. You can just throw the plate away. Anyone Else?

Me too. I also eat with plastic forks and spoons and I drink out of plastic cups. I live alone and I don't like doing dishes.

We use real dishes/cups/silverware @ home. At my friends house though they use paperplates- but only for snacks and stuff. For dinner they use glass.

When I move out, I might use paper plates...I don't wanna break any. :o If I use real ones, they're going to have to be the thin kind that Martha Stewart has at Kmart. Also there better be a dishwasher...I've live in the same apartment building since 1994 and they all have dishwashers but they don't work. They've never worked since 1985. Because of that, everybody in the building has to wash everything by hand! I hate my landlord! :smash: :smash:

I guess I'm a mix-it-up kind of girl...I wouldn't mind doing the dishes if they are the ones I got dirty, because I always rinse my dishes off in the sink so that there's not so much crap to wash off. And I wouldn't mind using paper plates, either...My coffee has to be in a REAL cup though...I loathe the sytrofoam cups. :p

I only use styrofoam plates if I'm sticking something in the microwave. Other than that, I'll use a regular glass plate. I don't mind cleaning one dish. But when I move out, I will eliminate the use for plates. Ramen noodles all the way.

Doesn't it get kind of expensive using plastic utencils and plastic or paper plates everytime you eat?

I never use desposable anything. Unless it's some barbeque thing at someones house. Then those thick ones are okay. At my house I have to use regular dishes.

I do when we run out of dishes. In fact, I'm drinking out of a pretty clear blue plastic cup right now. :D

I do. I'm too lazy to rinse of the dish and put it in the dishwasher.

No it's not expensive. Plastic Forks, Knives, and Spoons are $.79 and Plastic/paper plates are $1.19 for 50 plates.

Oh ok. That's really cheap. I thought after awhile, the cost of plastic stuff would really add up, but since it's so cheap it would take a long time before it would cost more than buying the real stuff. I still couldn't do it. Eating off of that stuff seems so chinsy to me. Having a dishwasher doesn't make it so bad to clean dishes.

Oh yeah, plastic or paper cups are the only kind of cups I like to drink out of. But for some reason I hate having my plates or silverware be desposable.

OMG...am I the only person here that doesn't mind doing the dishes? I'd rather wash one dish than throw a damn plate away. What a waste. And all those plastic and styrofoam plates are just going to pile up in the landfills until a garbage dump ends up in people's backyards!

I use to use paper plates all the time until I got tired of swallowing big chunks of paper everytime I ate something that you had to cut. Now I only use regular dishes. Also paper cups are too flimsy, and easy to knock over.

If I'm fixing something in the microwave that generates a greasy mess (barbecued sausage, for example) I'll use paper just to avoid the nasty clean up.

My thing is paper towels. I have never really understood why anyone has the need to have them. Why? Dont people have real towels in their homes? Do we really need to kill all these trees to make something that people really dont need at all?

I never use paper plates or plastic utensils at home. Maybe on a picnic. But I do use paper towels at home, for clean ups and spills.

For camping yes. Also if we have a barbecue at home, or even birthday parties and some gatherings we'll use paper plates.
