One thing I noticed when watching the color reruns in the mid 70s was that Ernie's voice was really high, causing me to believe that he sounded like a girl. Anyone notice this?

Well, eleven short years later, an answer to your question! I noticed it this morning, in the episode where Uncle Charlie is dating a woman named Bea Brady. Ernie and Bea's granddaughter are in a snit over the old folks dating. Ernie couldn't seem to find his range. I also brought this up in a much newer thread.
