If a doomsday asteroid was about to hit earth and would destroy all life on earth, would you want to know about it and why

Id want to know where the hell it was hitting so I could stay as far away from where it hits as possible.

Even the smallest asteroid is capable of destroying the planet. If you are on the other side of the earth of where it originally hits, you still won't be safe. Dust will be circling the earth for years blocking out any and all sunlight from reaching the planet, therefore killing all plant, animal, and human life for ever. Grimm, but it's the truth.

Am I the first one that said yes, so far? Yeah, I'd like to know about it. I'd like to get to do some things before I die, so if I knew beforehand, I could do the things.

Yes, I would want to know because I would try to do as much as I want to.

I'd also like to take the ignorance is bliss, approach and wouldn't want to know, so I can just die when it hits, no panics or worries- just dead. Though, I would like to know if I could take the next shuttle off earth for survival.

How much time are we talking about here? A week? A month?

Or is it like "Ummm, what are you doing at ten this morning?"

That's supposed to be what happened to the dinosaurs, something similar to a nuclear winter. Interesting how other forms of life weren't affected.

I'd want to know, because you're going to find out once it hits anyway and I'd like to know before it happened right there, and boom you're dead. Of course, I'd be all histerical and flip out crying and screaming and trying to find someone who knew what to do...

that sounds like a good plan! yes, id want to know, not months in advance, but days. Theres stuff I'd want to do if I didnt have much more time, and like MonarC said- be so wasted that I didnt know/care what was going on when it hit.

I'd want to know, but I can't really think why. I sure hope they get busy and come up with some kind of monitoring and defense program. I don't know exactly what we're doing about this as of right now, but I do know that politicians have consistently refused to authorize any funds for this when asked, and most of the monitoring of near Earth asteroids is being done by amateurs. Maybe someone has some more recent news.

I'd like to know a few days in advance, because there are a few things i'd like to do first, then the whole "get wasted" thing sounds good. lol

Sure I'd want to know. If I'm gonna die I want my family around me. I would never want to die alone. Ever. Besides I also wanna go to the "end of the world" party! ;)
