It was poisoning because he arrange for Jack to leave the kitchen so he could put the poisoning on the salad. Plus he didn't eat the salad, and at the end of the episode-He told Terri not to eat the salad.

He already got Jack's permission to use his seasoning so it wouldn't have mattered if Jack saw him add it or not. The script called for Jack to leave the room because it was important for Janet to see him add the seasoning w/out anyone's presense.

Most murderers aren't psychopaths who kill for no reason. Although he was upset at how close Terri and Jack were, he already had the seasoning with him (which is hard to believe to begin with, but it's tv).

It was seasoning. It made it perfectly clear in the end. The reason he whispered in Terri's ear was to give the ending a comedic effect, not because he was a psychopathic killer who wanted to get rid of Jack.

I LOVE THIS EP!!!! I was watching it last night on one of my tapes.
I love the part when Janet falls off of the ladder and then she keeps on hitting Terri's arm so she won't eat the salad :lol:

And he put seasoning on the salad not poisining.

Oh and if you look closley at the end when Janet gets the police she is limping really bad on her left leg...Like i said on the other thread i hope she was not hurt in real life.

He wasn't the first boyfriend on the show who wasn't happy about Jack, Janet, & Chrissy/Cindy/Terri living together. Did the other boyfriends try to kill Jack? I think not.

I just think it was kind of weird that Ray was walking around with salad seasoning in his suit jacket.

The episode, in my opinion, would have been better if there was more uncertainty as to what was in the seasoning, but I think it's evident that it was harmless.

Although I agree that it's odd for a person to bring his own seasoning, you have to consider that he's the type of person to make his own wine and, by his own account, is a bit of a chef.

Three's Company is a sitcom that isn't grounded in reality. How is it that people seem to only overhear conversations in the next room at the most inopportune times? It's fun to analyse and conjecture motives and acts, but sometimes when something doesn't make sense, we just have to accept the fact that it's a tv show.
