Is anyone scared of this or has it spread to where you are? I think it first started here like last week in Wisconsin. People got prairie dogs for pets and it spread from them.

OK, this is what I think about this. Prairie dogs are NOT pets! They are wild animals who enjoy burro-ing (not sure how to spell that) in their little holes and on the prairies (hence the name). Who was the genius who thought up to have them as pets. Come on people! It makes me sad because people want to have these wild, exotic pets, when there are hundreds, even thousands of homeless dogs and cats waiting for a nice home. Those are the kind of animals who NEED a home, not wild animals. Well, that's just my little opinion. What do you all think?

I agree with you. People should not have wild animals in their homes. I never understood why people want these cougars and giant lizards and enormous snakes for pets. It's no good for you and certainly isn't fair to the animal.
As far as Monkeypox goes. I'm not afraid of catching it and it hasn't spread to my area as far as I know.

I agree with what you said about the pets. I, however, am not afraid of the virus because it hasn't spread here yet.

Ive heard about it, but yeah its not around here. Plus, I read that its not deadly so its not that big of a deal. Not saying I want it, but theres worse things that are easier to get.

I don't think keeping prarie dogs would be an easy or fun task. They're nice looking, active lil creatures- but I think you should give dogs homes and leave the prairie dogs to run wild underground/

I read in the local paper that there might be a case of monkeypox here in Kentucky.
