View Full Version : Return Makeup??
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 06-12-2003, 01:34 AM Today me & Amanda went to Macy*s because they were having the big one day sale. So anyways, I heard on the radio that if you spend $25 on anything Lancome, you get all this free stuff- but it said it was for Filenes, but I figured must be for all stores. So anyways, I didnt even want to BUY anything in the first place, but I like free stuff.:o So after walking around in circles, I decided Ill just get 2 lip glosses. The total? $35.50. Yes, I knew itd be more than $25 of course, but now looking back on it-- I never wanted the damn stuff in the first place!! Whats worse? I didnt get one free gift! Meangya! It pissed me off all night, then at one point I tried making myself like the stuff, but now Im pissed again. I tried each one once but I seriously dont want them. Can I return them??? I dont want to be $35.50 short just because I wanted a bunch of free stuff I never even got. Meangya.

JoJoJoJoJoJoJoJoJo 06-12-2003, 11:41 AM try, what's the worst they can do?
*PinkLady* 06-12-2003, 12:17 PM Good God, no lip gloss is worth that much. Definitely try to return it.
Montana Ponine 06-12-2003, 01:08 PM  That is way too much to charge for lip gloss!! Return them, definitely! I don't buy makeup so I dunno if they'd take it back...they probably would, right?

I doubt they'll let you return it , especially if there is nothing wrong with it or it's been opened. It's not like they can sell it again if you've already tried it. I've never been to Macys but isn't there something else you could have bought with $35? Something that you could have really used? 35 bucks is way too much for 2 lip glosses.

Well, it's technically not expensive because of Macy's--it's because of the designer. Lancome is really expensive. But I'm sure you're right anyways about Macys--most likely all the cosmetics they carry are expensive, so there is probably no reason to look for anything else.
I don't think they'll let you return it. Like Mijada said, if there is nothing wrong with it you'll probably have no luck. And this isn't the kind of product you can say is faulty somehow. At least I can't think of an good excuse you could tell them to say the lip gloss doesn't work right. Besides, if you could think of a reason, Macy's would just replace them, not give you money back. What a bummer this is. Maybe you can get some use out of them.

LOL. I was just thinking, you COULD give it a shot and try to get a refund it you wanted. I'm trying to think like the optimistic people on here who said you should try. :D
I don't know Macy's policy--we don't have Macy's in WA. But I've seen Nordstrom take things back from people even when they shouldn't have. The best excuse I could come up with is that someone gave these lip glosses to you as a gift, and you tried them out and realized you didn't like them.
That's pretty lame, but it's the best I could come up with with! I just don't want to give up hope so easily. Lol. 35 dollars for two little make-up things that you don't want is such a waste!

Awesome! I'm crossing my fingers you'll get a refund. Let us all know how it turns out!
Janice 06-13-2003, 12:55 AM Macy's and Filene's have a very liberal return policy. My friend is a manager at Filene's, and they tell their sales staff that they would rather lose the sale than lose the customer.
At the very least, you should be able to wrangle a merchandise credit from them. Maybe you can buy perfume or something you'd like more.
