View Full Version : Two Types Of "TV Reunions"...

Whenever they try to resurrect the cast of a past TV series, the "Reunion" special usually takes on one of two forms:

1. They do an updated version of the old show with the cast members recreating their original roles, and we see what they've been up to in the present day with a newly-written story.

OR....

2. The cast members appear as themselves, sit around in chairs, and between showings of old show clips, they tell each other how funny they were, and how much fun they had working on the show.

As a rule, I absolutely HATE the second type of "reunion" show....Having those actors sitting around gushing over each other always seems so phony and staged to me.

However, given what I've heard and read about the rapport among the "Wings" cast members, an informal "chat session" with them might be a LOT of fun, and we'd be able to see how the actors themselves, instead of the fictional characters, interacted with each other.

If NBC doesn't want to do it (which I can't see them jumping at the chance), what about one of the larger Cable networks?

Just a thought....

yeah, I like your idea for a reunion. where the actors all come back together and talk about what it was like to work on the show, and to work with each other, and tell about some funny things that may have gone on on the set. that would be really fun to see.
...and maybe they can show a couple of blooper reels... hehe

I'd like to see both. Maybe it could be two hours. The first hour is the cast sitting around and the second hour, a plot episode. I think when TV reunions are two hours, there's only like ten good minutes. The beginning and the ending. So it could be shorter.

I wonder, is there any way that Lowell could come back? I mean is the Wittness Protection Program always permanet?

I could be wrong, but I think that we'd have a better chance of Thomas Haden Church taking part in an "as themselves" reunion chat, rather than a "story" reunion where they appear as their old characters.
