I was thinking....Ok you know how on shows there can be a character that is mentioned alot but never is shown like it can be somebody from the past....or yet a better example, We knew Sam was a player for the Red Sox but we never SAW him play in the years he was playing but still it's kind of like background information, we never Saw him when he first had his Drinking problem that's again background information, and when the characters make jokes about we know what they are referring to although we don't know full details about it, right? lol have I lost anybody yet??

Ok so here's my thing, People who have never seen cheers before and tune in after the 6th season, but ofcourse they don't know much about the show or which season it is, i mean for all they know it can be the first season, right? Throughout the last 6 seasons Diane is mentioned once in a while, as is Sam's drinking problem, and his days as a professional athlete. Wouldn't somebody watching the show think that diane and or coach are just like background information people.....Does anybody know what im trying to say? Like for a person to watch Cheers in the Rebecca years where you can watch Cheers and understand the characters and you know, learn a little bit more about the show if you like it. It would be kind of strange to see the first episode, i mean wouldn't you be like what is going on...or be like "Ohhh so thats diane!" ...."wait where's fraiser?!"
