I am only familiar with US Postal Money Orders, but if you used that, you will have to wait 90 days to file a claim on it at the Post Office if you filled in the name & address on it.

Otherwise, http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp is the way to go no matter how you paid (i.e. cash, check, money order).

I checked the US Post Service on-line, and I couldn't find any way of checking whether or not a money order was cashed (on-line). I'd check with a postal clerk to get these particulars. I know that it's an awful pain to have to wait the 90 days, but at least it's something.

I think it's unlikely that she didn't cash it, knowing human nature.

You're very welcome. I'm glad to help. I know how vulnerable it makes you feel to send money in the mail and to just sit and sit and wait. I hope you get your tapes soon. :)

Did you send the money order prioryty mail? Express? or confirmation ? If you sent it w/confirmation. which I recommend doing in the future. It would have a tracking number. Which you can see online if it was delivered to the address. confirmation only
cost .45 cents extra . Call your local post office and ask the post master what can be done. Its people like that , that makes hard for new traders to trade or sell with anyone. It just makes me sick.

I second that! :notworthy Please?! It'd make a whole lot more people secure about this board if once a trader has been proven a trading risk that their name be posted somewhere on this board to ward off newbies from getting burned. :notworthy

Here's a list of great folks that I've completed transactions with, though incomplete as I'm in the middle of trading with several more:

dave w.
Nanny Fine
Jake516
D David
SKIP BARRETT

Lucy & Desi fan
Colt Johnson
Christina Porsch
Adam Naj
Bobby Allen

I think that would work & also wouldnt.

I mean people can come on here & say so & so are a good trader but then, whos to say that the person isnt lying about it.
Know what I mean.

The other boards that I post @ usually have a "Traders Forum"
So people can do a Trader Check on someone.

Newbies shouldnt get burned if they do a trader check on someone.

thats what Ive noticed on this one.
I think for the few months ive been comming here, Ive seen like 1 or 2 Trader checks on people

By "trader check" do you mean simply asking if someone has traded with a particular person? I asked about Tina Ledbetter on this board early on in February, and I got three good responses despite my bad experience with her. Besides, if a newbie gets on here and asks about a particular trader/seller, he's at the mercy of those that just happen to be on the board at the time. Not everyone frequents this board all the time, and even a good trader may go bad, and bad traders may learn their lessons if only to save their reputations.

yea, thats what I mean.
Say someone was gonna set up a trade with you, they would put in the supject line, "Trader check on Jeneric"
ask if they are any good with their VQ, Turnaround time & what not.

Granted it not always fool proof But you have to take a chance right?

like I said its not foolproof but thats just a chance that people have to take.
It is a little better than going through a trade without knowing anything.

My take ( i think that the word im looking for) on Bad traders Trying to "save their reputations" is Once a bad trader Always a bad trader.
Especially if the person has riped off more than One person.
Its kinda obvious that the dude wont change.

Thats just my thoughts on it.
I knopw that If I ever traded with anyone on here (since I am new to the board) I would do a trader check. But I guess maybe that cause Im used to doing them.

The post master told me today that they have no way of checking whether or not a US Postal Money Order has been cashed. You'll have to wait until the 90 days lapses and then file a complaint with them at that time. This service costs $7.50 (I think it was), sad to say.

Meanwhile, you need to fill out a Mail Fraud Complaint Form (https://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud/MailFraudComplaint.htm) to stop this mail frauder from doing it again.
