Cactus Jack 06-04-2003, 01:53 PM It was "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The buggles AKA 06-04-2003, 02:14 PM That's not the first music video. It is the first music video played on MTV, though. Music videos go back to the 1960s, when they were known as "promo films." Cactus Jack 06-04-2003, 02:20 PM Originally posted by AKA That's not the first music video. I never knew that! sara 06-04-2003, 09:32 PM Maybe Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan. The one with the flashcards. It was used for the movie "Don't Look Back" (1967). A lot of people credit the film "A Hard Day's Night' (1964) for the creation of music video. ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 06-05-2003, 09:46 PM Originally posted by sara Maybe Subterranean Homesick Blues by Bob Dylan. Oh well, I gotta get my facts straight. mcgwirefan 06-06-2003, 02:49 PM Nope! 1961 Ricky Nelson sang "Travelin Man" with a travel video superimposed on the TV show (Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet). It wasn't a promo. Ozzie filmed the backup footage and made it into the first music video. This was areal innovation at the time. |
