View Full Version : Nick at Nite responds about skipping The First Time
Here is an 'official' response that somebody forwarded to me that they got from Nick at Nite:
There is content in this episode which NAN feels is potentially objectionable for a substantial enough portion of our viewers, that we feel it is only responsible to hold the episode out of normal rotation. Does
this mean the episode(s) will never air, not at all. It only means that are no plans to air it as part of the regular scheduling of the show at this time.
I hope that answers your question.

The Obsolete Man 12-13-2000, 07:58 AM ****ing hypocrites.
They air All in the Family, where Archie uses more racial slurs in the average episode than were used in the whole run of Facts of Life, and they air Three's Company, which was so full of sexual tension, innuendo, and horny old Mrs. Roper it ain't funny, yet an episode where Natalie has sex with her boyfriend for the first time is objectionable to the viewing public.
Did they do a survey? If so, I missed that one. However, if they ever do a survey on how viewers feel about their policies regarding what they air and what they don't air, I'll happily tell them that they suck.
Jo_Polniaczek 12-13-2000, 10:28 AM That sucks!!
I'm never going to see my fav episodes

Jo:You can take the girl out of the Bronx, but you can't take the Bronx out of the girl.
Typical Nick at Nite to do this ...
There should be some superstation or local station that will run the full seris through.
ahoob 12-13-2000, 02:11 PM I can't believe that there doing this. Isn't this episode the only one where you get to see Sanke for the first time?( I could be wrong) Since I have only started watching fol on nan then I will never get to see Snake and that's not fair.
The T 12-13-2000, 03:01 PM That's pathetic!

The Obsolete Man 12-13-2000, 05:41 PM Nick at Nite can do this because they have a monopoly on the market, ifuwheel.
There are no other networks which show Classic TV Shows exclusively, except N@N and TV land, which pretty much means if you don't like what N@N and TV Land are doing, you're screwed, because there's nowhere else to turn.
Now if only some other network would start up and be what Nick at NIte originally was... classic TV shows, uncut, and the full runs, well, Maybe the evil Nick would have to change.
Until then, we're all screwed.
lovefol 12-13-2000, 06:34 PM so does this meen that they'll air the one where natilie looses her virginity just not at 10:00 and 10:30

You take the good you take the bad you take them both and there you have the facts of life!!!
Solomon_Spade 12-13-2000, 11:20 PM I have to agree with what other people have said: Pure Hipocracy!
They have plenty of shows that are constantly full of objectionable stuuf; Archie and George using racial slurs, 3's Company having an innuendo or sex joke every other line.
I admit that I may not watch that episode if they would show it, and I might only do it to see Snake. But I am disgusted by N@N's hipocracy.
