View Full Version : How do you lable you tapes in your collection KR 06-03-2003, 01:14 AM ??????????????????????????? Nanny Fine 06-03-2003, 07:25 AM Originally posted by Lucy & Desi fan ??????????????????????????? My tapes that I tape myself I give them a number and write the number on the label. I keep a piece of paper, or a post it, on the top of the tape case that lists in order the episodes and shows that are on the tape so that it's easy for me to find one that might be in the middle of a tape. That is also how I send my tapes, not labeled and with the paper information. I hate to get tapes that have things written on the labels. IT messes up my system. Agent 13 06-03-2003, 11:03 AM Originally posted by Lucy & Desi fan ??????????????????????????? When I get a set of a particular show, I write on the labels: Hogan's Heroes - 1; Hogan's Heroes - 2; etc. Then alongside, widthwize, I print the titles with large lettering on paper and tape it with large clear packaging tape onto the boxes, this way you can stack them on shelves, consolidating as much as possible with the short end showing. I do not sit with an episode guide most of the time, but I try to have the listing somewhere if I've already gotten it done for fellow traders. And then after we've watched a complete tape, I put a small check onto the box, next to the title, so we know which one we're up to. :typing: Evita Peron 06-03-2003, 03:54 PM I label my tapes for example Dragnet Tape #1, Dragnet Tape #2 etc. :ufo: TVFactFan 06-03-2003, 07:33 PM Originally posted by Nanny Fine My tapes that I tape myself I give them a number and write the number on the label. I put a number on each tape and keep a printout of what's on each tape. I'm currently up to tape 44. barneyfife888 06-03-2003, 08:44 PM Originally posted by Lucy & Desi fan ??????????????????????????? I don't like regular tape lables so I use file folder lables, I write Alice 1, Alice 2, ect, then I have a binder where I write what is on each tape, with over 300 tapes it's alot to keep up with. TVJunkie101 06-04-2003, 07:16 AM I do just about the same as everyone else. I put the tape name on the tape, and print out a list of what episodes are on that tape. I tape it to the box, or the tape itself (depending on the size). I also keep a list in my computer, like this: Diff'rent Strokes - Tape 1 (list episodes on that tape) It's so handy. I've been cataloging a lot of tapes lately because I never did the first time around. dawsongirl 06-04-2003, 04:22 PM I hardly have the same show on one tape, but ocassionally. My listings go like this: Game Shows #1- I'm up to 70-something. Adam-12 #1-28 Miscellaneous #1- too many to remember. That's like movies, specials, shows that aren't very big... There's more, but I'm lazy. :D ImKukie 06-05-2003, 07:00 AM When I label my OWN tapes I write on teh top of the tape the episode # & Title Such as 1:1 Pilot But on the spine of the tape I Write the name of the show & which episodes are on it such as MAD ABOUT YOU eps 1-5 When trading tapes since my shows are usually in order I just write the name of the show on the spine & write which tape it is Mad About You 1 M.A.Y. 2 M.A.Y. 3 I guess my reasoning is w/ trading people have their own system for labeling so I try to keep it as simple as I can while still identifying the tapes. If I am only trading 1 tape w/ just a few eps I might be inclined to write the ep titles. There is never a shortage of labels for some reason. I keep all mine together in 1 sleeve so they are always handy. Sam Malone 06-06-2003, 07:47 PM I put on my labels: FORMAT NUMBER CONTENTS L-# or T-#/MODE like: Beta # 01 I Dream of Jeannie (B/W; L-750/B-III Bewitched (Color) or: VHS # 255 Bewitched (Color) T-160/SLP |
