Xenosaga pt.2!!!

or any other new RPG's....is it just me or are they not as popular as they once were? the only RPG's I see these days is either another (I'm not complaining!) Final Fantasy or some crappy low budget one that takes 5 hours to beat.

Metal Gear solid 3 also looks good!

I think part of the problem may be the fact that MMORPGs (or Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games for the uninitiated) are the new trend. But, non-online RPGs are still here and coming. A new Y's game is coming out, I've heard rumors of a new Lunar game (one of my favorites!), a new Morrowind game, more Dungeons & Dragons games for the PC and a slew more.

It's not so much the popularity of RPGs as in how much they're changing. Also, I think the idea of turn-based fighting aka the FF's are no longer considered to date. Most people are getting bored of that style of play which is why even Square is going the more real-time based combat.

Personally, I don't find CRPGs what they used to be. First off, I admit that I haven't really played many of them lately but I'm an old-school Ultima fan who also enjoyed the likes of Bard's Tale and the original Might & Magic series.

But, I still there's a good deal of decent RPGs coming out. Hold tight.

I am looking forward to Sonic Adventure DX in June. It's basically a transfer of Sonic Adventure from the Sega Dreamcast to the Nintendo GameCube, only better. Plus, it will have 12 unlockable Sonic Sega Game Gear games.

I have a question about Mystery Science Theatre, I've never seen the show- are the silhouettes of the guy and the robot and all there throughour the whole episode? I might rent the Mystery Science Movie (I think it's a movie, otherwise it wouldn't be in PAL in the UK video store)

The silouhettes are there through almost all of the episodes (aside from a few host segments and the end credits.) Basically what happens is that someone sends the guy a bad movie (the pic in my siggy comes from arguably the best episode, "Manos: The Hands of Fate.") The guy and his two robots throw comments at the film as if they are in a real movie theater. There was a movie of the show made in 1996. The movie featured was "This Island Earth." Some episodes have been released on DVD here in North America, I don't know about the UK.

Getting back on topic, I am also looking forward to Super Mario Advance 4 coming out sometime on Game Boy Advance. It is basically a port of Super Mario Brothers 3 from the NES. Does anybody have the Game Boy Advance SP? I got it a month or so ago, and it is really great. It is compact and has a front light so that you can play in the dark without needing an external light source (unlike the original GBA).
