View Full Version : I would like to say thank you to the person who donated 35 cents

Now I will be able to buy that stamp to mail in the payment this month. As they say, every little bit helps! :)

I have been impressed with the number of donations and the amounts. I have thanked all of you privately, but I also wanted to say thank you on here.

I have been thinking of some ideas to reward those who have donated.

* A unique user title such as "Premiere Member"
* A list of contributors on a page (for those who wouldn't mind to be listed, some may wish to remain anonymous)
* A private "donor's only" forum

When the next version of vBulletin is released, I may be able to offer totally ad free message boards to those who donate. Anyone who has already donated will automatically be grandfathered into that.

Any other ideas to give benefits to those who contribute?

What about those of us who want to donate but don't have a credit card or anything like that? Most of us seem to be under the age of 18 so what can we do?

Exactly... I'd be able to send some well-concealed cash once I start my job in a month or so, but I don't know if you want it strictly credit-card?

i know of one message board that has custom profiles, and private boards for people that donate..it makes them "gold members" or something.

I want to donate, but i dont have a credit card...what about money orders?

You can send money orders, checks, or well concealed cash. My mailing address is listed on the donation page now. Thanks!

How much is the general/average amount?

Most people have donated $5, but a few have contributed quite a bit more. No donation is too small, everything helps and I appreciate the support.

I'll be sure and try to make a donation!

Everyone says it's a bad idea to send cash through the mail, but I I've been doing it for over 20 years, and I've never encountered a single problem. The money always arrives safely.
I send $50 bills as gifts to my nieces and nephews all the time for birthdays and other things. It's always inside a greeting card.
I think if someone wants to send a cash donation, just make sure it's wrapped inside a piece of paper.
Just my opinion.

Don't ever feel stupid over something like that. Just give what you can spare. Like TJ said, every little bit helps.
With so many members, it all adds up. $$$$$$$$

That's what I did a few years back when I went on an Ebaying spree. I double-enveloped the cash.

I'll try and send some money. I should be getting a job soon so I can spare a little cash. I just have to swipe stamps from my mom or grandma. They'd ask me what I was mailing a would freak out if they knew I was sending money to someone I didn't know to help support a message board.

That's how I look at it. It's enjoyable entertainment, so paying out doesn't bother me. It's like subscribing to a newspaper or magazine or renting movies.

All my loose change I dont use for cards Ill put in a jar and @ the end of each month Ill put it in my account and donate it. Thats how I saved up extra cash for NYC. Me donating is the least I could do considering how much I use this!!

I get more enjoyment out of this site than some stuff I've paid more than I donated for. Like school books that cost $85. No enjoyment out of those.

 My mom would freak, too. That's why I can't send anything - not to mention the fact that I have less than 50 cents to my name right now.
I'm sorry...I will try to fix both situations soon.

Yes, can you imagine? I've actually had nightmares about the loss of sitcomsonline! It was unbearable!

Hey TJ, I don't have much to offer, but I'm a strong believer in "every little bit helps". I'll see what I can do.

Thank you for trusting us with this great responsibility. We love this board!

You can use PayPal to pay if you don't have a credit card. All you need to do is "attach" your bank account to the PayPal account.

However, I don't know if PayPal is accepted on this site.
