The first week of the summer season is here and 8SR was #1 in it's timeslot in the metered markets. I told you, once American Idol leaves, 8SR will be #1 in it's timeslot. Thank god American Idol is not going to be on this fall.
Last night's metered market ratings:
With only two-tenths of a rating point separating NBC, ABC and CBS, the Peacock net's combination of two episodes of reality series Dog Eat Dog (#3: 6.1/ 9 from 8-9 p.m. and #1: 6.6/10 from 9-10 p.m.) and Dateline at 10 p.m. (#1: 6.3/10) gave them the top spot in the overnights. Minus the American Idol steamroller, a repeat of ABC's 8 Simple Rules perked up to a first place 6.4/10 at the 8 p.m. half hour. A second repeat episode of the John Ritter/Katey Sagal sitcom came in second with a 6.6/10 at 8:30 p.m. Without Idol in the fourth quarter mix, 8 Simple Rules is the show to beat among adults 18-49. Yes, you can forget about NBC's upcoming Whoopi.
