View Full Version : These are the reasons Potsie should have left in 1980
TVFactFan 05-27-2003, 06:42 PM 1. His friends Richie and Ralph were gone
2. Not Cool Enough to be Fonzie's hangout partner
3.Had no reason to visit the Cunningham's House since Richie was in the Army
4.Too Old to be Chachi's hangout partner.
I don't think the potsie character was no longer needed after 1980. Anyone Agree?
*InThisMoment* 05-27-2003, 08:08 PM nope.i don't agree.Potsie Rocks! :D
XDrama 05-27-2003, 10:05 PM Yeah, afraid I too have to disagree.
Potsie was a great foil for characters like Fonzie Chachi and Joanie. Everyone was pretty serious, except him.
He also represented the 'generation' most Happy Days fans grew up with, like Richie, Ralph Malph, Lori Beth -- characters that would eventually be gone from the show as their actors left to do other things. Kinda a reminder of what used to be.
And I have to agree that he just plain rocks. ;D What a Potsie!

Yeah Potsie was great. I'm glad they kept him on, but they couldve made him not so dumb, because as he got older he got dumber  Theu could've put him in the last episode too.
HDfanLiz 05-28-2003, 02:37 AM I agree that he didn't seem to have much of a reason to hang out with everyone on HD after Richie & Ralph left, and that's probably why his role decreased significantly. However, I think the writers should have come up with more ways to get him involved in the show, because Potsie's a great character and Anson deserved good episodes.
Chad22 05-28-2003, 03:56 AM I Kinda Likd the Scenes he had with Roger. It was funny Cause Rogers so smart and Potsies so dumb
And technically he did have a reason to visit the Cunningham Home. Mr. C Was His Boss. Plus after all those years i guess he felt like he was one of the family.
Plus their was also scenes at Arnolds. Just Because Richie and Ralph are gone doesnt mean Potsie stopped going to Arnolds.
animalcrackers 05-28-2003, 08:53 AM I love the character of Potsie and I agree Anson deserved better. Potsie started out as a main character and ended up being an idiot. It was kind of sad, but I love my Potsie!

I_Love_Fonzie 05-28-2003, 11:40 AM I think Solomon is an Internet Troll.
Moonlight Lady 05-28-2003, 01:58 PM I agree, it wasn't the same without Richie and Ralph. For me, it wouldn't be the same without Potsie either. I don't think they should have dumbed him down as he got older.

His opinions are nearly always negative, and I have the right to think he's an Internet Troll. So if he has the right to his opinion I have the right to my opinions about him.

Haha, you call that an insult. Coming from you that's a compliment.
I_Love_Fonzie 05-28-2003, 06:49 PM I'm not fighting, I'm just stating my opinion. I'm not a wackball, whatever that is. I'm perfectly sane and I'm an intelligent normal person. People always tell me others have the right to their own opinion, but they don't seem to believe I have the same rights. I have the right to think SOLOMON is a Internet Troll.

Why was it so hard for you to respond to this post in a mature way like everyone else?

What do you mean?, I did respond to the post in a mature way. It was you that was imature by saying I was a wackball. Wether you like it or not I'm a mature person. You obviously do not know the difference between mature and imature. I think I know myself better than you do. When I said you were an Internet Troll I did mean it and that was not an imature insult. It was my view of you. Again I'm not really fighting I'm just stating what I think of you and if someone has a problem with that that's too bad. I'm not trying to start trouble. Calling you a Internet Troll isn't starting trouble, now if I used blasphemy that would be considered starting trouble. I won't use blasphemy and I never will, especially in a message board I enjoy using posting in. I am willing to end this discussion now if you are also willing to end it too. I say it again I was just stating what I think of you. I just hope no one on the list is mad at me. I am a nice person and I am not afraid to say what I think.
