She was also a Monkees fan but hadn't seen the show or heard any of their music in years. Her reaction to the song wat that it was the most depressing thing she'd ever heard. She still loved it though. LOL. Neil Diamond did write 4 songs for the Monkees though. I'm A Believer Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow) A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You Love To Love wondergirl9847 08-09-2004, 09:02 PM Hi all, I'm a newbie, and a Monkees fan since around 1985-1986, during the 20th anniversary. My fave song is Randy Scouse Git, where my name comes from...and although not a fave song, the 9847 is from P.O. Box 9847. :) vze3t9q9 08-25-2004, 05:31 PM AMML has mentioned many of my favorites. I just got a reply to an old message today and decided to long on and check things out. My Monkee faves are still "A Little Bit Me, Little Bit You" and "Some of Shelley's Blues"... not to say that I dislike any of their other songs, of course! :D Belair 03-04-2005, 05:01 PM Daydream Believer I Wanna Be Free Shades of Grey (always makes me cry!) What Am I Doin Hangin 'Round Roy5 03-17-2005, 07:27 PM I know Neil Diamond wrote I'm A Believer (as well as A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You and Look Out Here Comes Tomorrow), but I think it was ex-Kingston Trio member John Stewart (who charted in 1979 with Gold) who penned Daydream Believer. As for my favorite, it would have to be Mike's Listen To The Band. I pretty much like every song Mike did. Even the ones he didn't write, like The Door Into Summer. -Roy jpd 04-23-2005, 11:55 AM Door into summer and every song from the Head soundtrack! -JPD:roper ClassicSitcomsGirl 05-01-2005, 05:33 PM Ohhh,gawd..so many...okay The Girl I knew Somwhere Heart and Soul Listen to the band Pleasant Valley Sunday Valleri Porpoise Song For Pete's Sake Last Train to Clarksville Mary,Mary Star Collector Mikado 07-08-2005, 10:08 PM I guess ive always liked the pop/commercial stuff...I'm a believer! Im the other one....and the version by Anne Murray is even worse!!! Roy5 04-24-2006, 12:14 PM I can't honestly say Daydream Believer was really a favorite of mine, either. First of all, guys, didn't it occur to you that you might be overworking the word "Believer?" I'm surprised there wasn't a follow up titled I'm A Daydream Believer. Second of all, our local station only gave that side of the record airplay and ignored the fabulous B-side, Goin' Down, penned by the group and Diane Hildebrand. They were at the crest of their fame in late 1967 and they were playing both sides of the single, as they still did with the Beatles, and would soon do with Creedence Clearwater Revival. Whenever DB played I would stew and say "play Goin' Down!" If their next hit absolutely had to be a Davy tune, a better choice would have been Cuddly Toy from Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones, LTD. -Roy TV Knowledge Fan 04-24-2006, 01:28 PM Neil Diamond's "Look Out, Here Comes Tomorrow" (his follow-up to "I'm A Believer"), with a great vocal by Davy, and great instrumental backing! And ANOTHER one is "Daily Nightly", with its "psychadelic" sound and Moog synthesizer background (and Mickey's wailing vocal!). siamesemeg 05-18-2006, 10:05 AM As We Go Along was the first dance at our weddding. It's a perfect, beautiful song. I'm also very partial to many of the songs on the first "Missing Links" LP - Carlisle Wheeling, Nine Times Blue, Storybook of You, All of Your Toys. Nailing down one favorite song is pretty impossible, though. I think the lyrics are just awesome. According to Micky Dolenz, there are refrences to Bill Cosby : hobereebinhobersobin... To Andy Warhol: Andy you're a dandy, you don't seem to make no sense... and to the cops and "frodis" : Running from the rising heat to find a place to hide, the grass is always greener growin' on the other side... ;) hippiechick60 09-18-2006, 07:03 PM I was wondering what everyone's favorite Monkees song is.
