View Full Version : Which Season did Wings get that wonderful theme song? Skywalker 05-25-2003, 01:05 AM That is one of my favorite theme songs. I'm talking about the one that lasted about a minute. pilotguy 05-25-2003, 01:53 AM That theme was used right from the start in Season One. In fact, if you've missed the earlier episodes, that theme song was played over separate opening credits, with scenes of the Sandpiper flying over Nantucket and landing. In later seasons (I believe starting around the middle of Season 3), the separate "Flying Sandpiper" opening was no longer used...instead the opening credits were superimposed over the "teaser gag" opening scene. While some "Wings" fans like the later "superimposed credits" format because they feel that it gives them a little more "story" time, I personally miss the separate opening and theme song....I think that as good as the episodes are, there's just a little something missing from the shows where there's no separate opening theme song. You're absolutely right....The "Wings" theme song is really a nice tune, beautifully played. In fact, I dare to say that it was that theme song that helped the series to really grow on me! blackbeard 05-25-2003, 02:37 AM use this link to download the wings theme song http://timstvshowcase.com/wings.html blackbeard 05-25-2003, 02:48 AM a better version is right on this boards main page http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ then click the W and scroll down all the shows until you get to Wings.
