Now guys, I've talked to some movie stars in my past, and I just had to share this. I spoke to Shavar Ross about a month ago, and we had a nice little conversation together, through e-mails. I asked him for his autograph by mail, and I wanted a signed pic of him on the show. I told him that I didn't really want to have a pic of him grown up. He said he could only send a pic of him now. I said ok, and for some reason he got a message saying to send himself. he never, ever spoke to me again, and I don't know how he got the message to send himself. Are you with me here?

Did you offer to send a self-addressed stamped envelope? That would have been a nice thing to offer him. I would be grateful if he sent you any photo, why does it matter if it is old or recent?
Shavar is a very nice fellow, I'm sure he did not ignore you intentionally. Write him again and offer to send him a SASE for the autographed photo.

I sent him a letter, but he never responded back, and I used the e-mail that I found on your website. I don't know, but I like collecting like stills from the old shows, and it would be great if he could sign it. He was a nice guy in his e-mails, and he responded very quickly as well.

It would be fine if you had your own photo still of him that you could send to him, but I interpreted your message as you wanted him to send you an old photo which he probably doesn't have. Be thankful for any photo that he sends to you.

Ok, thanx Todd. I'll get a pic of him, my friend has a big box of old TV photos, so I'll contact Shavar with the e-mail address that you have on your website soon. Thanx again.

I hate to say it. But if Shavar was rude, I wouldn't blame him. He is probably late 20's/early 30's now and people keep wanting him to talk only about a show he did when he was in his early adolescent years. This is the same reason Gary has the "no Diff'rent Strokes talk" policy now. Yes, Shavar will always be known as Dudley (and some may remember him from Friday The 13th Pt. 5 too) but he probably felt insulted when someone wanted him to sign a picture of him from 15-20 years ago. Imagine someone wanting you to autograph a picture of you from when you were 11 years old.
